Originally, 2 years ago, I left the review "Very good place for everything." Today I am so sad to say that I have had to change this 5-star review to a 1-star review due to the injustices my teammates and I have faced. To begin, my friends and I made an adult league team to have fun in the sport we love without the pressures of winning or losing. We quickly loved the spirit of the league and made friends with the other teams and players on the teams. Unfortunately, despite the crowds we drew and tight games we played, we quickly felt unwelcomed by the woman running the leagues, Misty. Misty barged into our locker after our second game without warning or politeness, entering a room of half-dressed young men quickly beginning to raise her volume at people trying to respect her and comply with rules. It was that evening and the Thursday evenings following that taught us the dynamics that would be felt in Advent Health. As the weeks progressed we lost players, consistently scheduled for the latest possible games and were treated disrespectfully when we approached her with issues and concerns we had. After the weeks of the league, which I'd like to note was extremely fun, we were asked not to return and recently we have found out that none of us allowed to play in another adult league even individually. Her reason: we need to grow up. While I can agree that we are on the younger side of the league, in terms of professionalism we remained more mature than her. She angered easily, acted pettily, and accused us unfairly. It is safe to say that our team would love another opportunity to play as a unit but to disallow this seems unfair and I hope this beautiful complex has the opportunity to rethink its management and treatment...
Read moreWe recently had a birthday party for our daughter here and had two big issues that could have been handled way better. First, they only give you 20 minutes to set up any decorations and it takes approximately 10 minutes to park leaving you with 10 minutes to set up which caused us to set up in front of our guests. Second while pizza was coming out in front of our guests we had a woman come in (not our host) to let us know we did not pay for the “glow” when we had already prepaid for the glow with our package. When I asked for a receipt to be shown for clarification the woman could not provide it but was basing her information that was given to her by Sarah. Sarah informed her that she had emailed me and I had not emailed her back which was also false. I was able to pull up all emails and even the receipts that she couldn’t provide. It took another person named Matthew Christopher to approach and confirm that the payment was indeed made and no additional charge was needed. The communication within the facility is poor as well as the attitudes some of the workers have and it’s very unfortunate. They need to work on communication, customer service, and...
Read moreGreat to have an ice rink close by. It’s a bit pricey to do open skate. The ice gets pretty beat up during that time. They have the Zamboni come out half way through open skate, so that takes away from the actual two hours of open skate time. I wish they would increase the skate time to account for the 12-15 minutes lost.
Another thing that would be super awesome would be if they could come up with a skate pass. A family could pay for the pay and come to any open skate for an entire season or year. We would use the heck out of that.
Update 7/18: So this place hasn’t been open that long, as compared to other long running businesses in the area, and it is pretty filthy. The landscaping is pretty worn down. There is litter everywhere in the parking lot and in the landscaping.
Inside is also really dirty. There is garbage all over the place around the rinks. The welcome area is clean, but once you get to the rinks it’s a disaster. There was even blood on the wall of the Busch Gardens rink in the home bench. I get that hockey players get bloody sometimes, but someone should definitely be cleaning...
