My fiance and I went to the Hampton Inn at Wesley Chapel to escape Hurricane Milton. I was amazed.
Firstly, we arrived Tuesday night and the storm slowed down so we didn’t end up needing it but stayed anyway. I watched the entire staff prepare for the incoming guests and make sure everyone felt safe that Tuesday night before landfall.
Wednesday the storm was due to hit. We checked out of our Tuesday night reservation and checked into our Wednesday night reservation. The staff let us check in 4 hours early since they saw us just sitting in the lobby waiting until 3.
During this afternoon the staff got us ketchup, silverware, and plates. Anything we asked for- with a smile (although I knew they were overwhelmed with the storm).
As the storm approached people began drinking and there was a small group of 50-something year old women who got drunk and started throwing a tantrum at the front desk guy for “water in the room”. Like- ladies there is a hurricane, what can they do about that? Nevertheless I sat there while the front desk staff took their crap for over an hour remaining respectful.
When the power went out, the staff immediately laid glow sticks in front of every door and exit to ensure guests could see and knew the exits. They also took an elderly women’s dog outside for her. In a literal hurricane.
Then to top it off, we had the room booked for Wednesday and Thursday (in case we needed to stay cause of damage). Thursday morning the storm had passed and we were anxious to get home. Power was still out so they were writing down everyone’s names and checking them out on a sheet of paper. I thought I’d never see my Thursday night refund. I was wrong. I just got the bill and they correctly charged me for just Tuesday and Wednesday night & refunded Thursday. Didn’t need to call them and complain. They got it right, with all their systems down, from a sheet of paper.
I cannot rave about this staff enough. Yeah the hotel was clean, the rooms were big and comfy, but the highlight is the people they hired. Phenomenal people and care about...
Read moreMade reservations for 1 night due to basketball tournaments for my daughter. The entire team booked here and I can't say we had a great experience. First of all I booked 1 night and Friday day before my reservation they charged my bank card 324 for 2 nights bank declined. Day of arrival my card was charged for the 1 night reservation 162 Cool no problem I was arriving that day. We arrived hotel smelled awful from the moment you walked in checked in manager was called over my reservations wasn't found for whatever reason! Finally showed my email confirmation get settled and get keys walked into the room and smelled even worse than the lobby smelled like sewer water and hotdog water! As the day goes on we come back to the hotel to find the elevators not working mind you our room was on the 5th floor had to use stairs that night. Next day I get alerts from my bank I'm low balance check my account to find not only did they charge my account 2x for 162 each. Go speak to the desk they call over ms. Caitlin who apparently was the manager no Apology whatsoever and says we charged your card 2 nights because the link used was for 2 nights said absolutely not I have my email confirmation provided that to her as we are speaking I get a 4th charge for another 162 now I'm negative on my account because the hotel charged 3x $162 still no apology or anything your manager lacks customer service skills I'm now negative and have to wait to see if she even reversed the charges. I will NEVER book a stay with Hamptons due to the lack of professionalism or care for your paying customer. Every parent that had reservations was charged 2x for 1 night stays. Horrible service and no regard for...
Read moreWe stayed there for three nights as part of our vacation . The room was clean and wide enough for us all ( a family of six). The problems started at night. At 3 a.m. the fire alarm went off, and we needed to leave the room since something burnt in the main office. All the hotel guests went outside and waited for at least an hour and a half until the Fire Department put an end to it. It never happened to us before, but we understand that things like that happen. The problem was that nothing was offered to us standing outside in the middle of the night ( not even water) until my wife suggested it. No snack was offered, not even a fruit, even though the manager came in and out of the hotel freely. By 5:30 a.m. it was all cleared, and we went back to our room. We went back to sleep, and since we did not sleep well, we woke up late. In a weird way, there was no accommodation of the breakfast hours, and if you slept late because of the fire , you lost it! |I was trying to talk to the manager, but somehow, she was always too busy to talk to me ( "Send her an email...").|When I asked for some kind of compensation for the crazy night, I was told ( at the beginning) that it was "a natural disaster"(?) and I am not entitled to any. It took me two days, and three tries to speak to the manager ( did not succeed) in order to get some kind of compensation. It should not be the case!!!|There is a lot of customer service 101 to learn in that hotel.|If you want that hotel, I hope there...
