Great no frills beach with laid back vibes...one of my top 10 favorites in the USA...please be courteous to other dog owners and keep your dog leashed at all times, not every dog wants to play or be approached by uncontrolled dogs. Unfortunately you can no longer park there overnight...gotta be out by midnight but can come back at 5am. This was the black people beach back in the day...today there were a group of jamaicans camping out playing morning reggae...the way life should be! Someone mentioned the black founder of the beach had set it up for poor people and that is why there are hot showers and formerly overnight parking....PLEASE PLEASE bring back the free overnight parking! Read moreThe beach is very nice and the bathrooms, showers. My intention was to camp there and have a peaceful week. The day I arrived there we're loud music coming from cars, which really didn't bother me. After all it is day time and people are enjoying themselves. The downside of this, at night cars are coming in several people got out of their cars shinning flashlights like their looking for something. They left and then another car comes in shine his flashlight, then left. Another one comes in shines his lights right at my car and just sit there. I got an eerie feeling and I left. Read moreI go here almost daily. It's one of the few places on. Amelia Island that you usually don't have to fight for parking to enjoy a day at the beach. There are bathrooms and showers along with a couple of covered picnic tables. A boardwalk leads down to the beach. They have flag warnings right at the beach access and will sound a very loud alarm if you need to leave the water or beach entirely due to weather or danger in the water. There is a fire and rescue station not a mile away for emergencies if EMTs or Paramedics are needed. There are life guards from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
