This park is gigantic. The front park is the public parking lot which is directly across the beach on A1A Ormond by the Sea
You can park all day PROVIDING you now pay the fee of $20.
We go down the road for the next part of the park
We love coming here for the dog park (especially since it's only a half mile from my home)
The dog park is divided into two. One for small dogs and the other for large.
Both sides are HUGE! They have chairs and benches all around to sit and watch your dogs play.
There are groups that come everyday, be it mornings, afternoons and early evenings. We only get to go either Sundays or Mondays. But it is great to see the same dogs (and people) who are fun to be with. (I think Roxy, a black Cairn Terrier that greets everyone at the gate with a bark and a wag.) Is my favorite (After my 2 babies)
My girls only run. Run up and down, all around especially when another dog wants to run. They run until they are exhausted (tongues hanging out of their mouths) YaY So we can get a good rest when we get home
They provide dog bowls, poop bags and you can even find balls to throw but you should bring your own.
NOW Next to the gated parks are 2 basketball ball/tennis/ handball courts... Great
Across from the dogs is a children's play area Swings, sides, picnic area. A lot more I'm sure but I don't go over to the area (No kids)
Next to the children's area is a baseball field
Now, you can see all of these areas when you park and decide where to go
Yes, the restrooms are provided both the front and back of the park
This place is a must to be on your radar weather you are local or just visiting AND it's the next best thing because dogs are NOT aloud on the...
Read moreBicentennial Park is one of my favorite beach spots.
It's nothing fancy. What it doesn't have is its real charm: -No driving on the beach. -No parking on the beach. -No suburbanites trying to act gangsta by blaring the hip hop CD they just bought at Target for your enjoyment. -No overcrowding. -No huge hotels towering overhead. -More sand than cigarette butts. -No mobile rent-a-beach-ATV-with-a-large-hotdog-and-fries stands.
If you like all of the things listed above, don't go here. Go to Daytona.
If you hate the things listed above, give Bicentennial Park a try. They have basic facilities available right by the parking lot, and it is a short walk to the beach.
The sand here is a mix of soft white powder and course red seashell.
Just down from the park, a WWII submarine lookout tower still exists if you are a history buff.
If you surf, come here when there is a tropical system 200-400 miles off of the coast. It has a deep drop off and goes...
Read moreThis is a very nice place to go especially if you have dogs! Yupp! I said DOGS! There are actually TWO dog parks - one for big and one for little dogs! (I own cats, not dogs, but think this is a great idea!) There is a beautiful children's park with equipment that takes into consideration, children with disabilities. There are also ball fields, basketball courts, and I believe a wall to hit tennis balls and handball? The parking area overlook shares a GORGEOUS VIEW of the ocean and there is a gazebo further up the hill that offers yet a nicer view. I gave this a 4-star only because I WISH they would PLEASE FIX THE WATER FOUNTAINS! I walk there every day and wish those worked properly for a nice drink before heading back to my house, 1 1/2 ...
