Great Beach, a delightful experience and the waves were just perfect, there was no sharks unlike the likes of bathtub beach which was full of sharks when we went. Stewart Beach is a humble beach and very understated. I personally had a nice match of football here without burning my feet too much on the hot sand, I would recommend to anyone playing football on the beach to play where the water splashes however there is a big drop off so only the first two feet of water are playable. During covid there was not too many people there and we went on a Saturday, it wasn't too crowded and nobody was closer than 10 ft from us. We never felt like we were in danger there, I would say it is safe to go as long as people limit how many people they take. Right across from the river on the bridge Stewart Beach features many views on the drive over of nice yachts and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI want to drop this note of thanks to the wonderful lifeguards at this beach. Today, I visited the beach after not going for years. I am a woman of size, so as I left the beach (in smoldering heat) and attempted my climb thru the sand, I felt extremely tired and exhausted. I asked for help just to make sure I could make it back to my car, and a very nice female lifeguard was so attentive and loving. There was also another guy in the tower who made sure I was ok. I wish I had their names. š They called the side by side motor car (Steve was driving) and made sure I got to my car safely and ok. It was a wonderful experience. I am so grateful and wanted to share. Although I wasn't drowning in water, the sun did me in, and my weight was a risk, but they were so gentle. Thank you to Steve and the other female and Male lifeguard who was on duty today at this time....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis beach is beautiful and super convenient with bathrooms, showers, lifeguards and a spot to grab breakfast or lunch. This was my favorite beach for swimming on Hutchinson Island because I like to swim where I can't touch the bottom and that happens pretty close to shore here, with gentle waves. That said, while I was enjoying a very peaceful swim someone (not a lifeguard) yelled "SHARK!" , a crowd gathered and everyone made a mad dash out of the water. I didn't see a shark and I didn't see the lifeguards do anything until kids started getting back in the water and they asked them to wait 10 minutes to get back in. I don't know if a shark was actually spotted, but it was a sobering wakeup call for me to stay close to shore and educate myself about the creatures I'm sharing the sea with and how to keep...
