So...we were just driving around the PUBLIC park, hitting up pokestops and catching pokemon. It was an event day, so we're one of like 6 other groups in cars doing this. Suddenly some crazy lady in a red car starts tailing us and swerving behind us trying to overtake us. so we pull over. She opens her window, and we open ours. Mind you, we're in a PUBLIC park, playing pokemon go on a rainy day.
"Excuse me, but i need to know what are your intentions at the park today???" She asks in her privileged accusatory tone. "I work at sun n fun, and ive seen you circle the park a few times in the past hour, what are your intentions???"
"Just playing pokemon go?" And we rolled up the window because im getting wt because its raining. She then speeds off like a bat outta hell.
Its a public space, we have the right to be there. It was raining, no one was at sun n fun. No one was at the park even. So why does this isiot have the right to drive us off the road, and insinuate were up to no good? And lets be honest, 2 grown men in a car, near a water park for kids? I know what she was inferring.
3 things really bother me here:
We were one of about 6 other cars there doing the same Pokemon go event, just circling around the park collecting stops. Why did you single us out? After you left us you went right back to sun n fun, didnt stop anyone else. Just zoomed off into the rain. Real safe.
Do you realize the only one doing something unsafe was YOU? you were tailing 2 feet behind us trying to swerve around us on narrow parking lots in the rain. YOU could have caused an accident.
Its a public space. You have NO jurisdiction beyond your gates. For your employee to LEAVE your premise of business and stalk us and force us off the road is grossly negligent, and harrassment. She, along with you as a business, have no right to demand anything from us, especially off your premises. Your employees need to be taught to stay in their lane.
Sun n fun, you need to check your employees. They think they're being some sort of justice warror predator catcher, but in reality, they're abandoning their job post to drive dangerously in the park an accuse people of being pedophiles. Borderline illegal behavior.
So, now what, next time I bring my nephew to sun n fun, am I going to have to worry about your employees thinking im going to rape a kid and tailgate me the whole way home? Will this woman approach me in the parking lot and accuse me of abducting my own nephew? Put a leash on this attack dog before she bites the wrong person.
I highly suggest you address this issue with her, because its asinine it even happened. Blonde woman, red car. Working today around 3:30pm. Sit her down, remind her she's not the collier county sheriff, and what she did was reckless (its insane to drive that close and reckless in the rain) and...
Read moreNOT KID FRIENDLY!!! This has been the worst experience coming to this “waterpark”. My son is 2 and has special needs. He is very well behaved and uses swimmies while I hold him. He never lets go. Otherwise, he will not get in the water (as he has been taught to be proactive in preventing the obvious). A rude, snippy lifeguard told us we could not go in the pool because they do not allow swimmies or life jackets. Then we went to the babies/kids water works area which was any where from a few inches to a 1 1/2 ft. of water. This psycho life guard followed us and told us we couldn’t step in there either because of the swimmies. My kid won’t take them off without a meltdown. I also don’t believe it’s safe to have kids who can’t swim without the option of having a life saving jacket. I went to “management” and she said her thing and walked away without reprimanding the guard. She claimed kids swimmies can get stuck under a chain or object..blah blah blah. I went back and looked for any possible areas this could happen and it would be impossible in the kids area (poles are about 3 feet wide). The other pool had nothing to snag on. Also, she claimed he could get stuck on a chain underneath a lily pad, which wouldn’t even be possible with a life jacket to dive that deep..not to mention he’s 2 and I told her I hold him the entire time. I was an ocean lifeguard with some of the biggest double overhead waves in the country (Hawaii) and I have never faced such idiocy with someone who should be trained to have common sense. All we could do was one pool which was full of other parents with kids with swimmies (no cool water buckets, sprinklers, nothing) or the lazy river. The lifeguard proceeded to clean up a kids vomit with a key card and a spray bottle while people walked on the wet area not even knowing their was a dangerous highly transmittable bodily fluid on the ground. Thats the REAL danger, not my two year old in a life jacket. Thanks for ruining my Mother’s Day!!! Terrible management.. go somewhere else like the beach, Octagon Wildlife Sanctuary, or the Shell Factory ( businesses which respect their patrons and are tons of fun). This place was...
Read moreThe waterpark itself was great. Very clean with a lot of variety. We are a family of 10 (3 adults, 7 kids ages 4-17) and needed a break from the beach for a day but still wanted something fun for the kids. This seemed to fit the bill. . . . That is until a rain cloud came up. The lifeguard staff is very young and immature. They were standing around grouped together and we overheard them begging for it to rain so they could close early. Well at 2:45, they got their wish. It was a single rain cloud with no lightening. I'm all for being safty-minded, but they sounded the horns and made everyone exit the park. That's right, not just exit the water, but exit the entire park. They would NOT even allow us to go to the bathrooms and change first. Here we had 7 soaking wet kids and they literally kicked us out of the park. They were rude and kept yelling that the park must be closed and basically ushered everyone out like cattle. We had to load up in the car, drive down the road to McDonalds and take all the kids in there to change into dry clothes. 5 min later the rain cloud was gone and the sun was back out. We were so fed up we just called it a day and headed back to the condo. All in all, we got there at noon, paid $125 for 2.75 hrs when we were planning on staying til 5pm. No refunds and no rain checks offered. If a Manager or Owner of the park reads this, the date was Tuesday, July 19, 2016. We picked this park over two others because of the reviews. Very disappointed in how the staff handled this situation. Would not have minded the park closing early due to weather near as much if they'd just let everyone change before kicking them out. If this is a park policy, you need to look into changing it. We visit this part of Florida every summer for two weeks. First and last time at...
