I have been going to this park for a couple months with my friends Puppies. I always thought that it was not a better place than this place? I used love take the puppies every day to me it was our happy place and it was our safe haven. Unfortunately that really change yesterday 5-14- 24 around 7:20 pm as usual I took the puppies to the dog park with another puppy so they can have a wonderful time playing together. “ BIG MISTAKE “ HUGE to be honest. As I was entering the gates for the big dog park, Callie was attacked by two big aggressive dogs. As one of the dogs was attacking her the other dog with a muzzle on was pinning her down very aggressively both. As I was screaming for her a man who was there from the beginning of the accident trying to help me and Callie. I was looking for the two aggressive dogs owner she no where near to help, and when finally she approached the situation I fall down in the ground as I was trying my best to protect my dogs from her dogs. Me and the dogs were all very traumatized and shaken by the attack. Callie even urinate herself and my blood glucose levels were down. I was in the ground holding Callie because I was too weak to stand up I asked the woman who owns the aggressive dogs where was she when I was screaming for help? Why was she not with her dogs when her dogs attacked my dogs she just looked at me and walked away. I couldn’t believe that she didn’t even ask me if my dog was okay? Not even a i am sorry for what my DOGS did to your dogs. It was no worries at all on her end. Thankfully that man was there and a lady that was in the little dog park asked me if we were okay? And asked me if I help? She asked me if I want her to call 911? And I said yes. After four minutes the unresponsive woman with her aggressive dogs where walking towards the gates to leave and then with a very sarcastic voice asked if anyone was bleeding? I was blown away by the sound of her voice. Didn’t even stop to say I am sorry. I told her to be more responsible and she had the audacity to tell me that my dogs attacked her dogs when she was not even around? I got so upset after she saw me behind one of the gates in the ground with three dogs protecting ourselves from her dogs. As she was leaving I told her that we the police and she replied to me by saying I am just putting my dogs away and again she said that my dogs were the ones who attacked her dogs and they were defending themselves? it amazing how people can be so careless and cruel. She did not care for one second about what just happened. Even the police didn’t care for what happened. After speaking about what happened and the traumatic events that occurred. He said that unless my dogs were killed or injured they can’t do anything about it? And just let her go while I was having a severe panic attack. I cannot believe how unfair the system is. cSometimes I believe that the law enforcement officers just don’t care at all.
If you really love your fur puppies stay away from this place. Because no one is going to do anything to help you in case something happens to your furry fur puppy!
My last word is that “ THIS WOMAN AND HER DOGS SHOULD BE BANNED FOR THE DOG PARK.”
Also if you see a woman with two dogs one wears a muzzle on his face. Be aware both dogs will...
Read moreLarge dog park. Lots of green grass and hills to run around. There are 3 fenced areas - two for large dogs, one for small dogs up to 35 lbs. Always lots of dogs here of all types and breeds. We always find nice people to chat with. Great community. They have a water fountain with a hose connection for spraying off and giving dogs water. Sometimes people bring a kitty pool for the dogs to play in, but technically it's against the rules so if the park authority sees one he will remove it. They check up on the park often, make sure people are using the right areas based on their dogs size, and keep it well maintained. There are also some agility obstacles in the parks like hurdles to jump over, large rocks, and poles to weave through. Lots of trees and shaded areas. Benches for people to sit on and covered areas. Make sure to not leave any valuables, purse or bags in the car in sight. There have been several break-ins reported of people's cars while they were in the dog park. Never when I've been there, but I've heard about it. So park in a visible place and be careful...
Read moreThe hound mound is a great place. I think better than the Lewisville park. Trees offer shade and some benches for you to sit down. There also another part that isn't open yet but looks like a big place for them to run around. Only issue with me are the gates. The locking mechanisms are not working properly so you have to ensure the gate closes correctly.
Many people complain about children or the small dogs in the large dog area and not sure what the issue is. If the children are supervised and your dog doesn't pose a threat, then there should be no harm. If you small dog is able to be around the bigger dogs, then there should be no danger. As always, if you see something that you feel isn't safe, let the people know. It's everyone's responsibility to ensure the safety. One time there, a little kid kept following my dog and it was clearly making my dog feel uneasy so I told the kid to keep his distance and let my dog do what dogs do. The kid backed off with no fuss, no issues,...
