BlueFoot Pirate Adventures — Attraction in Fort Lauderdale

Just book it!! You won't regret it. There's a reason it has amazing reviews and is recommended as one of the best activities in SoFlo. This experience knocked my socks off. My background is in early childhood education and I'm very critical of what I call big noise; fun and exciting, but loud and not much else, no substance or value. This is 100% not big noise. It was such a well-rounded experience and I was impressed with the level of thought that went into each part of the adventure, from stepping out of our car to pirate jokes and costumes, to stepping off the boat with pirate treasure. There was so much intentionality put into the whole experience. Captain was great at giving instructions in a way that was silly, but so easy to understand and follow. I have a special needs son who takes rules and conversations very seriously. I absolutely loved that Captain wove so many morals and values into the silliness. That to me is what makes this different and better than other boat adventures. He communicated in a way that kids listen; it wasn't lecturing or too sugary, but easy to understand and on their level while being wrapped up in silly adventures. I've already heard him telling his younger brother when he got frustrated "don't quit, pirates never quit!!"

But the real superhero was Neverland Jake. My son adored him. He was so silly and fun, but he was always inclusive of all children and gave each one an opportunity to do something special. I had a moment to chat with him and he commented on how he loved my son's enthusiasm. I thanked him for being gentle and patient with him when he misunderstood directions or got distracted. I explained about my son's condition a little and how theater and music was one of his special interests, which was why he was so into all of the pirate adventure. He understood immediately and expressed empathy and a deep acceptance for anyone that may not exactly fit in. He wasn't just the best part of the pirate adventure, but the most special part of our Florida trip for my son. My son loved seeing someone that was silly and theatrical and so very unique and confident. Also, mad props to his singing voice. I've been to several pirate parties, I love pirates! But what we experienced on my granddaughter's birthday was incomparable 🙂 An incredible pirate party that started as soon as we arrived at Port Fort Lauderdale! I have taken some pictures and videos, because it is worth seeing. The Americans from shows understand him! 😉 So, the young pirates were initiated into the difficult life of a pirate, also the captain gave them lessons in pirate jargon (to the dismay of some parents) :) . Once we set sail, the adventure began. The discovery of a message in a bottle led us in search of a key to a treasure long lost at sea. We fought off the infamous Barnacle Bill (a fictional character from San Francisco who worked in a gold mine) in a water cannon fight. We all laughed, we were soaked to the bone, bathed in water from the gunfights. They danced to limbo rock, repeated after the captain the children's pirate oath, and finally the sailor, the captain's assistant opened the chest and distributed money and treasures. All the junior pirates left with an equally divided bag of loot! We now have an official pirate certificate for Alexandra, certifying her acquired degree - junior pirate and an experience we will not forget! While my grandmother was getting rich with her pirate knowledge, her father and I also looked at wonderful natural views, millionaires' houses, as well as expensive yachts!
