If I could give NEGATIVE stars, I would!!! So, I went into VIBES because my ROOTS were a little too yellow from where I used professional color on my hair and I simply asked for a shadow root and some lowlights to be pulled through the blonde that I had already (which was already super light). First of all, she even told me she knew it was a lot darker than I wanted when we finished that day. She made my hair splotchy and curled it that day to cover her screw up and I felt bad, for whatever reason, for even bothering her with the issue. I told her I was sorry, but I just could not walk around with splotchy color. So two days later, she "fixed" it and it still turned out splotchy, gray and pumpkin orange. When I told her that the color still wasn't right she told me I was only holding my hair out in photos to point out the imperfections (which, DUHHH!!). I mean if you pay that kind of money for a so-called "professional" to do your hair, you should have ZERO imperfections. I heard great things about VIBES and was so excited to get in so quickly and make my hair vacation ready! But I now have to get up early every single day to curl my hair so I can blend those splotchy spots. She told me she spent too much time and used too much product to refund my money. To her, I suppose that is the right thing to do. She also had her 4 year old there (when she "fixed" my hair) who was being super loud and she couldn't even focus on my hair the second time around because she was too busy telling him to sit down and be quiet or he would get a spanking. She took him to the bathroom and I know the ENTIRE salon heard her being loud with him. I get punishing your kids but put yourself in his shoes and look at the situation YOU put him in. He was bored and trying to occupy himself. I just find it ridiculous that you can't even get a great job done when you spend good money for just that. If you can't do hair then don't be a stylist.. PERIOD! If you aren't willing to go above and beyond to give your customer the results they want then you should not be a stylist. If a client asks for something and you can't do it, then tell them you can't do it. Save them the time, money and damage to their hair and just let them know you would rather not do it so they can go get it done right and get it done right the FIRST time. What I find funny is that I actually have spoken to numerous stylist who could get me from where this "stylist" took me to where I SHOULD be and have minimal, if any, damage and give me EXACTLY what I want. WOMEN BEWARE!!!! DO NOT GO TO VIBES!! And if you do...choose ANYONE but DANIELLE!!! I have heard AMAZING things about Emily, but I do not recommend Danielle. She said she would speak to the owner, Emily about her decision to not refund my money and I never heard back from her so I am assuming she is backing her decision. But I can not imagine an owner of a salon allowing a clients hair to look like this. Because when people ask me where I got the ugly hair job done, I tell them VIBES. Just sucks because every client that walks out of a salon is a walking billboard for the business. I would think they would want everyone feeling amazing when they leave. Oh well, lesson learned. I will spend more money next time and get a better stylist and have exactly what I want. Just very sad that I had such high expectations that weren't even close...
Read moreI moved here from Atlanta two years ago and I’ve still been traveling back because I haven’t been able to find a hairstylist I trust or meets some of the basic requests (requirements) I have when choosing someone to do my hair longterm. (Lengthy review, but worth the 30 sec read.)
I search for a salon that is accommodating and pleasant with an uplifting atmosphere. I require my stylist to not only be experienced but efficient in her experience. Also someone with a kind spirit and pleasant disposition. Someone who doesn’t slow down when she’s listening to me talk or she’s in conversation with me. (My hair is very thick and hard to lighten, 4 to 4 1/2 hours processing time.) So it's important the person doing my hair doesn't often pause or slow down while in conversation, like someone driving while talking on a cell phone. And these are not things you can discuss with your potential new hairstylist in advance. You really need her (or him) to already be there... be that way naturally.
DREA DAVIS is THAT one! and so much more. I can’t say enough nice things about her. She's way more than I expected and precisely what I need!!
I’m grateful as well for the accommodation of the Salon yesterday. I scheduled an appt with someone else on a different day in error. The ladies in the salon came together and did what they could to accommodate my schedule and desire to have my hair done that day. While I apologized for the inconvenience and error on my part, I can honestly say today I’m so grateful for my mistake, I found my new hairstylist and a wonderful Salon... plus, right around the corner! Thank you Drea for your engaging spirit and my stylish new...
Read moreEmily’s sister is married to my nephew, so I decided to try her place out. Stephanie took such great care of me, that we will continue to come back and so does my mother. We come all the way from Jasper Tennessee because the staff is amazing and they do not over price things, or try to get you to purchase things that you really don’t need. They are very informative when you have a question, and they come up with a solution to any problem or issue that you’re having. We will continue to take the drive because of the great service that we are getting. I’m not just saying that because Emily’s family. Stephanie is the one that does my hair and she is amazing and extremely sweet and caring. I am visually impaired and they help me out so much, like it was natural to them. Believe me, you don’t see...
