Last night I had one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had at any fast food establishment.
About 10:20-10:30pm Sunday June 30 I went to the drive-thru. I ordered a foot-long chili-cheese Coney dog combo, chili-cheese and jalapenos on the tots with a cherry lime-ade. I also ordered a large chili-cheese tors and two Oreo ice cream sandwiches.
When I pulled up to the window payment for my order was processed right away. Cash given, change returned. Then the window was closed. It was about 5-10 minutes later that I was given my drink. Window closed again. I was then left waiting for at least 30 minutes. No one checked in with me to tell me how long my wait would be, why it wad so long, or to apologize.
I was finally handed a box of hot food items. Window immediately closed again. I began rummaging around the box looking for a receipt to see if my ice cream sandwiches had been rung up. No receipt to be found. Someone returns to the window and I'm able to inform them of my missing items. Window immediately closed again, but this time I can see my items being prepared.
Window opens and two ice cream sandwiches individually wrapped in cellophane are thrust at me. No apologies. I'm a bit dumbfounded. Should I just place these ice cream sandwiches on top of the box of hot food items? I wasn't given or offered a bag, which means I have no napkins for the rapidly melting ice cream sandwiches. I'm disappointed that I also don't have any Sonic mints. But I'm really frustrated that I still don't have a receipt.
I'm a food service worker paid in tips. I pay cash for everything. I have no bank account record tracking my purchases. I always take my receipt. But at this point I don't know how long I would have to continue waiting for the opportunity to ask for a receipt, so I leave, considering the fact that the burgers and shakes at Cook-Out might make up for never again having a Sonic...

I come here every other day and I had a mobile order today and they wouldn’t let me come through the drive through after i already paid and ordered on the app. Mind you it was ONE drink and they made me pull out of the drive through and go to a stall and wait 15 minutes. My car windows don’t roll down I cannot park in those small stalls which is why i order through the app and open my door at the drive through. The lady at the drive through continued to argue with my boyfriend then cop and attitude. I asked to speak with the manager and she did not care at all and said it’s “policy to go to a stall with a mobile order” Since when…? Never at any sonic have they done that to me. And claiming to send mobile orders to stalls to help with “drive through time” is laughable. Mobile orders are the quickest to handle vs ordering at the window. If that was the case then shouldn’t you send people ordering to the stalls?? So incredibly frustrating. The teenagers that work there are way nicer than whoever that manager was and who they had on...
Read moreI order two chocolate milkshakes late in the evening, about 30 minutes before closing. At the speaker, the total sounded too low, but I figured I would just pull up since I was the only customer there, and ask about it. The cashier repeated my total, and I asked if that was for both shakes. Her response, "You said one shake." False. I clearly said TWO shakeS. Regardless, she seemed very put out that she would have to add another shake to my order. Irritating, sure, but not a reason to write a bad review. Until ... She walked away from the window to relay my order and she and the other employee were discussing how they hated when "stupid" people would order at the drive-thru then say "that's not what I wanted" at the window. Hardly a fair representation of the story, and I am insulted too boot. Love Sonic, hated...
