Malco Fort Smith Cinema — Attraction in Fort Smith

Generally this place is good. No problem with the places, certainly no problem with concession.....HOWEVER, whenever I decided to bring one of those miniature purses that change into a backpack, the very rude assistant collecting tickets told me that there is a policy regarding bringing in a backpack and wanted to know if I would like to discuss the policy with a manager. I didn't have any desire to discuss the policy with a manager, nor did I have a problem with their policy. So "now that I have been informed" I wouldnt bring this particular purse in again; but obviously, coming not prepared for a prepastrous policy such as this, I obviously couldn't "swap out a purse" at last minute. I go inside, find a seat, and with no warning whatsoever, the assistant walks in with two security guards who take my purse away!! They followed my husband to the car to make sure my purse was indeed, removed. They never once told me that I MUST speak to a manager about their policy, they didn't tell me that they weren't going to let me in if I had this purse, (I figured that they were just informing me for future reference)....heck, I would have gladly dumped my small bag out to show them my contents if they had asked! But they never did. They handled the situation VERY poorly, and they lost major points on our grading system. Malco, you are VERY VERY tacky. Very very aggravated with this establishment . Called ahead of time because my husband and I live an hour away to make sure we could take our three month old into a movie . They assured me on the phone that it was more then alright as long as it wasn’t a rated R movie . Only to drive All the way up there to be told we weren’t going to be able to watch the movie we call way ahead of time about . That we can’t bring a baby in after six . When the gentleman who stated this policy was also the one who talked to me earlier on the phone and never mentioned a thing about it and told me it was ok to bring my child in . We went to the movies and left early because of how bad the experience was. The snack attendant got our order wrong, then asked how I’d like it fixed — only to say a manager had to come over regardless. When the manager arrived, they didn’t speak to me at all and had us standing in line for an extra 10 minutes just to give us what we ordered.

When we got to Theatre #7, the entire theater smelled like urine and there was no air movement. It was hot, musty, and uncomfortable — just not a place you want to sit for two hours. We ended up walking out early. Very...
