I'm reviewing Salomon farm park as a guest at a wedding reception. Everything is great here and I was really enjoying myself until I noticed that a police officer spent the entire evening giving the entire party the perp stare down. The entire evening spent being stared down by a police officer with scowl, arms crossed, and carrying himself like there was a fight about to break out.
I've been to many weddings some that served, over served, and had no alcohol served at all and this was always well under control and folks were definitely not over drinking. Yet the entire time it felt like we all doing something wrong with the perpetual perp stare from the corner of the room.
I attempted to talk with the officer as I understand Sunday evening chaperoning a bunch of adults isn't a great evening for him . However all of my attempts to talk with the officer were met with cold rebukes. It's like having a beer is a felony criminal offense in Indiana(and yes I only had a beer(1) in the barn and did not attempt to leave)
I would humbly suggest to the Salomon farms management that they either talk to the officer about his interpersonal skills, or find a more discreet area for him to spend the entire evening perp staring everyone down. If this is not possible make the venue a dry one. I would have quite honestly enjoyed my evening much more had I had a coke or ice tea in my hand with no sour police presence.

I recently had a terrible experience at Salomon Farm Park. After agreeing to a contract and paying the agreed-upon price for my event, I was shocked to find that the venue had added hundreds of dollars in charges that were not listed in the contract. When I asked about these charges, the staff were unapologetic and unhelpful, leaving me feeling frustrated and taken advantage of.
To make matters worse, a police officer at the venue seemed to be looking for trouble and creating problems for guests. Their unprofessional behavior made me and my guests feel uncomfortable and unwelcome.
Overall, I would not recommend Salomon Farm Park to anyone. Their unethical business practices and unprofessional staff make for a terrible experience. Buyer beware and be sure to carefully review your contract and any charges before agreeing to anything...
Read moreThe area is very cute with well-maintained walking paths that I think anyone can use. The grounds are cute, with lots of flowers and other plants. My main gripes were not with the ground necessarily. We did the outdoor dinner experience at $80/person. Seating arrangement was super weird, it was longer tables, and we were elbow-to-elbow with strangers. It felt like a wedding haha
The food provided was mid, and one out of two of us left hungry. Catering was not with Salomon Park, so we can't be upset with them at all. We figured most of the money spent on the dinner went to the farm, so we weren't too upset that the money was used for a good cause...
