Miserable experience. When we walked in we stopped at the host stand and waited to be seated and we're ignored by the staff for several minutes. They told us to sit anywhere. When we sat down they didn't bring us and water, we had to go up and ask for it. Ordered a vegan Hawaiian pizza. What came was disgusting looking. It looked barely edible. We thought we'd give it a shot. We were very hungry, and had a 22 month old who was starving. The cheese had melted and merged with the sauce to make a gummy, unappetizing mess. We fed the baby, but picked at our own slices, waiting for staff to come by and ask us how things were, but no one came. We are some more bites, but just couldn't do it. Eventually I went up to find a server and talk to her about our disappointment. She got the manager, who was abrasive and rude to us. He scornfully asked if the baby ate the whole pizza, that if we didn't like the pizza why would we eat it? Well it was a tiny pizza, and yes, the baby ate half of it, she was very hungry. He seemed unconcerned by our frustrations, saying he wouldn't refund the pizza because we ate it. That if we had come up when we first got it they would have refunded it then, but not after. I was very angered by this. We shouldn't have had to chase someone down to let them know there was a problem. Then he told me he'd seen our pizza come out, and he would have recommended against that order. Well then perhaps someone should have told us when we ordered that that combination wouldn't work. Eventually he had them make a new pizza for us to take home, although without cheese. Why have vegan cheese as an option when it's not going to work well on pizza? Overall we were very upset by the whole experience, and will never be going there again. Too expensive, abrasive staff, and not...
Read moreThis restaurant is a bit loud, so upon walking in my pal and I decided to order for takeout instead of eating there. It's also awkward that the cooks are in full view of the restaurant, without any kind of privacy; I hate that kind of atmosphere, and I'm sure it's awkward for the cooks as well (sidenote: to the cook I made awkward eyecontact with, I was admiring the flowers embroidered on your tshirt and was not trying to be creepy). The door to the patio was also the front/main door, and the benches for people waiting for takeout/seating feel very close to and crowded by the front door/patio walkway/host stand.
The pizza menu isn't laid out very intuitively; I recommend breaking it into red sauce vs. white sauce sections. We ordered the bianca pizza and misread its description, not realizing it was a white sauce pizza. Grouping pizza types together can be helpful for customers who are overwhelmed by a large selection and by the loud atmosphere.
The pizzas themselves were fine. Lackluster. We also got the funghi, which was good. The crusts are extremely bland and flavorless, and the pizzas didn't seem woodfired at all. I wish that there was a butter brushed onto the edges of the crust for additional flavor and texture, plus a seasoning, such as garlic or rosemary, could be added to it for some pizzas, depending on the other toppings of the pizza.
One good thing is that it's near a liquor store, so you can buy some good beer to go along with your...
Read morewe walked into the restaurant and had to wait several minutes to be seated. Nobody greeted us during that time and we stood there somewhat confused. The staff seemed unexcited to be there. All the tables were dirty but the restaurant was relatively empty. The food was good but nothing special. The Caesar salad Was almost perfect but drenched in dressing which made it hard to finish. The croutons were my favorite part of the meal which is not a good sign. I asked for recommendations from the staff on which pizza was a must try and received eight recommendations. Confident recommendation of one or two things is always preferred. If someone is asking for recommendations they're obviously trying to narrow down Their decisions be recommended half of the menu. I ordered the rocket. The flavors just didn't work well. The crust was relatively flavorless. There was no charring on the crust which I expect from woodfired pizza. It was overly salty from the prosciutto and bitter from the arugula This pizza could benefit from an added sweetness like a balsamic glaze drizzle. Seem to have a bit of an attitude and acted like he was put out by having to give a recommendation. This attitude seem to trickle down to the staff. If nothing changed this would not be a place I would be interested in visiting again. if I were the owner I would change my attitude when interacting with guests and higher people who were excited...
