I love the 9 hole link here, a course best suited for beginners (watch out for rogue golf balls, honestly my fellow golfers, you can’t get mad when a rogue ball almost hits you, you were a beginner once too, remember? Don’t like it? Go somewhere else, boohoo.)
Toptracer range technology is also available at this course which is phenomenal, works once you scan the bar code on the monitor from your app. Make sure to sign out or you will see your scores much different get updated while you are away from the range.
The staff at the Pro shop are excellent and very professional. They’re on top of making sure customers are not breaking the rules. They are there to help you with any problems, from people to schedules, to other issues.
The bartenders are excellent and the crowd are fun. (Please tip your bartender or just stay home, don’t be cheap.)
There’s a new permanent food truck next to the driving range at the location and are mostly open during lunch time, not morning or late afternoon. Get a range card instead of paying per visit, you get a lot more practice range balls and more value.
There is a very long wait from Fridays - Sundays during the late mornings (10am) to the late afternoons (2pm) at the driving range. Average wait time for the driving range (in my experience) is between 20 mins (for the second floor with no shade) and 1+ hours (for the first floor with shade).
-Expect loud talking at the driving range when golfers come in groups. It’s very annoying (and can mess up your practice) but there’s nothing to do about it. Bring noise cancelling headphones instead. Or eavesdrop and write a movie about it.
-Expect customers that are waiting in line while you practice at the driving range that will pressure you to hurry up. Just ignore them, it’s not your fault they couldn’t get a spot, the lanes are first come-first serve. Take your time, let them “report” you, there are definitely entitled golfers there that are used to getting things going their way. Don’t let them.
-Range balls can be purchased with cash (exact change only) at the driving range machines OR debit/credit cards at the pro shop. You get a code to enter into the machine keypad. (Make sure to put the basket down + place at dispensing location FIRST before pressing the desired amount of balls, or all the balls will spill out on the floor, that’s embarrassing.)
This is a fun place, everyone is respectful and I haven’t had a negative experience yet in the last 5 months that...
Read morechanged from original 1-star review because management reached out and explained how they were working to improve these issues I've played here probably 10 times, and more often than not, it takes longer to play 9 holes here than it does on a full size course. Most recently we played on a Wednesday evening and it seemed quiet as we were warming up, but 10 minutes before our tee time a group of 10 guys swarmed the tee box. In front of them was a group of 6, and as we were waiting to start, we saw numerous groups of 6+ finish on the 9th hole. So it seems that Mariner's is cool with allowing large groups to play together, so these large groups keep coming back. I have no issue with a group larger than 4 playing as long as they can keep the pace up. We were stuck behind these groups and it took us 2 hours and 5 minutes to make it around...on one of the shortest courses in the whole Bay Area. The pro shop said "oh yeah these guys always do it and book 3 tee times in a row." But they waited 30 minutes until the last tee time they booked and left as a group of 10, causing a backup from hole #1 that never went away. If you're looking for a quick 9 holes,...

Great driving range. Bottom level has toptracer so you can get stats on your swings. Very helpful since I'm very new to the game. 21 stations on the bottom all with toptracer. You can download the app and it will update your profile with all your swing stats. Went for the first time on a Sunday around noon. Not that bad of a wait. Got a stall in like 15-20mins. The ball dispensing machine takes cash or you have to get a range card I don't think it will take CC. The more money you put on the range card the more bonus money you get.$50 gets you $55 Also if you use a range card the buckets are discounted and you get more balls too. Large bucket $17 for 140 balls cash, but with range card $16 for 150. I mainly came here to try toptracer and I was very impressed with it. Will be back again. There are all sorts other categories on toptracer too. Games, stats,...
