BUYER BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Do not believe the 191 point inspection claim they love to brag about or the service after the sale. Do not purchase the tire protection or roadside assistance they’re selling either. It’s a complete scam! The customer service BEFORE the sale is impeccable. It’s the after sale that’s beyond abysmal. I bought a used RV that I was told every square inch would be inspected and assured it was road worthy. I mean even a used car dealership makes sure the tires are good right? So I trusted the tires were part of their inspection. 20 miles into its first trip it had a blowout that did massive damage to my rig. I was 20 miles from the dealership....I called Windish service and was told they couldn’t help me. Come to find out they don’t have the equipment to even change a tire roadside or even onsite. That being said if you’re buying used, you’re never getting new or possibly even good tires. By 412 miles into my trip I had TWO more blowouts not only causing additional damage, but also severing the electrical lines to my slide outs. I spent 5 hours on the phone with the claims and roadside assistance only to be told that they only cover $100 to put the spare on. Since my spare was used at mile 20....and now I had TWO MORE blowouts. I was left stranded on a busy highway in Utah with no assistance whatsoever. The tire protection would only cover the cost if it was towed to a facility, but yet it was too big to be towed. But of course no one would tow it at all since it would exceed height limits. What kind of warranty is that???? One rep even told me they didn’t even provide roadside assistance to RV’s....even though I purchased it from an RV dealership!!! Wait what??????? $800 out of pocket later for two roadside assistance calls plus 3 tires and 10 hours sitting on the side of the road, my RV still hasn’t made its destination. This is my home I use for work. I was supposed to be in Utah yesterday but instead my RV has spent most of the time on the side of the road. Now I’m facing an insurance claim to repair all the damage caused by the dry rotted tires I was sold. As a consumer when I purchase something from you and you make a 191 point inspection “before the sale” claims, I’m expecting that I’m not being sold dry rotted tires that will go less than 20 miles. I would never recommend Windish if you want reputable service AFTER they get your money. The tires will only be covered if I can prove they were defective. Seeing that they shredded into a thousand pieces, taking pieces of my RV with them....we’ll see if I ever recoup my money. I’ve got thousands of dollars worth of damage to my rig due to this deceptive company. I feel scammed and outright lied to. Buyer beware. They are the best sales team I’ve ever encountered. But after the sale you are completely on your own, even if you purchase their “warranty”. I’ll be another $500 out of pocket for the insurance deductible, that when and IF I can find alternative housing to put the thing in a repair shop!!!! 1 tire blowout...it happens. But THREE in 412 miles after purchase? Windish RV.....YOU’VE GOT SOME...
Read moreThe sales experience was great! Bobby in finance has been a wealth of information. I have had a really great experience with the parts department as well. I have had two interactions with the service department, one was great and one was less than ideal. The first interaction I had a recall and de-winterization performed on my Airstream. No issues, service was great. After my first trip taking my camper out, I found that I had a leaking toilet. I was informed that warranty work could only be performed at the Windish in Denver which is a 4 hour one way drive as opposed to a 2 hour one way drive. This may have effected my decision to buy an Airstream and/or purchase from this dealer but honestly unlikely. One wouldn't think you'd have issues right away with an Airstream but here we are. Regardless, I made an appointment to have them look at my toilet. I was out of town for a week so I left the camper with them with the assurance that they would have time to look at it while I was gone. At that time I explained that the Denver dealer was too far and I wanted to use the extended warranty I purchased through their dealership. I dropped it on a Friday and planned to pick up the following Friday. By Tuesday afternoon I had not heard anything so I called and left a message for my service advisor. I did not receive a return call so I called Wednesday afternoon and was told my service advisor was out, the lady who was manning the desk didn't have access to read the notes and she was alone so she couldn't go talk to the tech. She assured me I would receive a call Thursday morning. Again, no return call. After several phone calls of getting voicemail, the wonderful receptionist took a hand written note and I finally received a call from my service advisor who indicated that they hadn't done anything with the toilet because it was a factory warranty issue and they didn't do warranty work. I explained (again) that I wasn't using the factory warranty and if necessary would come out of pocket for the repair. I got a voicemail from her right before they closed on Thursday indicating that they tested the toilet and couldn't find anything wrong, it wasn't leaking. Attempted all morning Friday to get in touch with them to talk through the issue because the toilet was definitely leaking but was unable to get ahold of anyone. Picked up my trailer on Friday with assurances that they tried everything "even hooking it up overnight" with no sign of a leak. $140 and two days later, I take my camper out, lo and behold the toilet leaks within moments of hooking it up to water and turning the toilet back on. Had a different technician look at it and it took less than 5 minutes to determine that the toilet is leaking from an internal mechanism and needs to be replaced. Definitely won't be returning to the service department and would not recommend purchasing an Airstream here. Otherwise,...
Read moreWe had been looking at getting 5th wheel for quite some time now our original travel trailer that we had gotten our family outgrew we spent roughly eight months looking around between various different dealerships. One of the things I really appreciated about wendish was that their sales reps had no problems pointing us in the right direction even if that meant the sale went to another dealer. The fact that the sales representative was more interested in getting us into what we wanted versus just making a sale was very impressive. Our first camper trailer we purchased through camping world originally I intended to go back to camping world to look for our new unit however when we sat down to work on the numbers for some reason it seemed like our deposit was disappearing and we were financing the entire amount to improve our trade in. I am not here to bash one dealership over another however I do believe that wendish being the family-owned corporation that they are put in more time and effort to accommodate the buyers and whatever it is that they are looking for. I can't imagine I was the easiest client for them to work with as we consistently were changing our mind on floor plans because one rig would have something over another one and we were trying to find the perfect one. In the end we got exactly what we were looking for well within our budget and the payments on the loan can be touched by any other dealer out there, the closest anyone else was able to get was within $200 of the price range wendish was able to get us on our payments.
after everything was done and taking care of when she was able to install all the extras that we had ask for on our rig to include custom installing a dishwasher and for my wife. The service is at which they provided for us even extended past the purchase we took the trailer out literally the day we purchased the trailer and took it directly next door to the KOA in Colorado springs. I was having issues with my first time setting it up mostly with the hydraulic system I called up my sales rep and he was able to come over in a golf cart with one of the maintenance text and get my hydraulic systems up and running not that there was anything wrong with it was mostly user error on my part for the auto leveling system.
I can't thank everyone enough at windisch for all the help that they provided to us over the last 8 months I want to personally thank the finance team for going through the lengths and efforts that they had to get everything within what I was looking to pay each month.
Last but not least I want to personally thank Kenny my sales rep for putting up with everything that we had done over the last 8 months I can only imagine how much hair he has lost through the process of trying to help us find exactly we're looking for. Thanks you all for everything....
