We had a fun and great experience at the museum. The museum is located at Tucumcari's Convention Center. Just drive around towards the baseball field, and you will see it. There is a fee to go into the museum, which I believe was $5.00 per person. As you enter, you can see a wide variety of classic cars, neon photographs, and artwork throughout the museum. There is a small sitting area where you can watch a video about Route 66. I especially liked the Neon. We actually visited the museum twice to take photos, and we had a great time looking at the photos and artwork on the wall and, of course, looking at the classic cars. There is a small area at the front where you can also buy souvenirs. Overall, this was a fantastic and fun experience at the museum. The associate was really friendly and informative, and she was happy to see us visit for a second time before leaving Tucumcari.

The museum was closed during the time the web post said it should be open. No sign on the door indicating why they were closed. I called the number listed and connected with a โ€œvolunteerโ€. When I mentioned we had come to the museum and wondered why it was closed here chuckled and said, โ€œ Yes, we are closed. We got flooded.โ€ No apology or mention of maybe they should put up a sign or notice on the webpage. Very...

The museum was very neat. I saw some cars that I hadn't seen prior (and I love classic cars), and they had a neat little documentary about Route 66 and American roadway travel. The merchandise they had didn't provide a large selection, but it wasn't all the same redundant stuff at many others. The staff was also very kind and helpful.

Note: it is in the same building as the convention center and...
