DON’T GO UNLESS YOU CAN BUY TICKETS ONLINE. We spent $200 on Uber to and from the welcome center from Santa Fe. We couldn’t buy tickets online so we came early to purchase tickets right when they opened. I called ahead to confirm that was the only way to buy tickets, we couldn’t buy them online. They confirmed if we showed up we could get tickets. But when we got there at 9:30 they said they were full and turned us away. Made no attempt at making it work in any way shape or form even though we had spent an hour in an Uber car and $100 to get there. No apology. No attempt to do anything. Even after we told them this was my mom’s dream to get to see her home. Unbelievably not helpful at all. Don’t attempt to go here until they get their act together and have tickets available online. And when they tell you to just walk in and tickets will be available that way, don’t...

We spent 19 years in NM, and our favorite area is Georgia Okeefe country! We find that not many NM tourists get this area on their list of places to visit. This time we stopped in at the visitor center in Abiquiu and we' were greated by helpful staff. A 25 minute long video was excellent - it highlights the Lopez family who worked for Miss Okeefe back in the 1970s, and their memories of her. .Quite personal and revealing of her as a great person, not just a great artist! Several historical exhibits at the center we're also great to see.

We previously had done the tour of her house up the hill in Abiquiu and it is well worth the admission price. You have to book about a week in advance as spots fill up...A shuttle tskes you up to the house from the visitor center. The tour through her home and garden is soulful and memorable. We will...

On a whim I decided to visit the O’Keefe welcome center. About a week before I put my name on the cancellation list for one of the coveted Georgia O’Keefe home tours of her Abiquiu home. Much to my surprise and delight, I made it into the 9:30 AM tour with the fabulous guide Leah ex University of Wyoming art professor and current artist. Her cadence was impeccable, she was extremely knowledgeable, answered everyone’s questions to a tee and generally let us enjoy this magnificent experience. Well, I lucked out as a solo traveler getting on a tour I highly recommend purchasing advance tickets. Special shout out to Isaac for putting me on the cancellation list and giving me a 10 minute heads up that there was a spot available so I could partake. Will be back! PS The gift shop...

Did you know that the welcome center has a beautiful garden? For a plant nerd like me this was heaven. I use an app called Seek that lets you scan and get the name of plants, bugs, and animals. Super fun in a place like this. I learned a lot of new plants and was a beautiful way to pass the time until our tour started. It was a nice walk and there were a few kitties to pet along they way. I just lost myself in here ( not really lol) I had no idea, so get there a little early and take a walk around back, if you enjoy nature this is worth the early arrival. The staff inside the welcome center were living up to the name, they were very welcoming and friendly. It was a very good experience.
