Best municipal park in the City of Framingham, MA, for all ages: Most used aspect of the park is for walking and biking on the paved circuit (up to 1.1 miles around); play area for younger children; open fields for frisbee and other recreational activity (including picnics). Ample seating (in good condition) is provided along the paved circuit. Three parking lots on different sides of the park are available to the public. Really excellent place for physically disabled persons with walkers or wheelchairs. (No electric motor scooters or bikes — don’t know whether this is a formal regulation, but community standards in this regard are respected.)
Farm Pond Park is across Dudley Road from Cushing and also very popular place, with its own parking lots and access point...
Read moreThis is a particularly uninspired park in its design. Which is unsurprising for something that's basically a grassed over demolition site. The area used to be a hospital complex. It has the appeal of a shoe box: rectangular, useful, and slightly ugly. Functionally it is superb for wheeled activities, running, walking, dog-frisbee chasing, or exhausting small children at a playground. This place also sports several gyms, and a plethora of stops in pokemon go. The parking is good, but note that the large lot off of Dr Harvey Cushing drive is not the property of the park. The public restrooms are a few terrifying porto-potties. I do not reccomend entering them. The paved path makes a loop that is especially good for logging miles without ending far...
Read moreNicest spot in Framingham. It's a great place to walk, bike and skate, and wheelchair friendly. When Framingham acquired the property, there was talk about turning it into a golf course, but this is a much better use for all Framingham residents and free. Lots of trees being planted along the path, so visitors in the coming decades will enjoy their summer walks in the shade. Gotta love the foresight. If I'm not mistaken, the park is actually larger than the Boston Common, and with so much open space there could be opportunities for added features. Ice skating rink? Sprinklers for kids? Parks and Rec do...
