
I went to the Sunday public skate, and had a decent time but would not recommend this arena to friends who are looking for a relaxed, casual atmosphere to skate. It was frustrating to see the ice monitors engage in behavior with their buddies that violated the public skate rules (spraying each other, chasing after each other, staging a mock hockey fight). Those same ice monitors seemed to pick and choose at random who they would call out for pausing to catch breath at the perimeter, but did choose to ignore the family in the center of the ice taking group photos. Also, a person from the ice arena came onto the ice without skates to stand and watch people, creating a barrier in the path of the skaters. The heater in the middle of the visitor side (opposite from benches) hasn't worked the past few visits, but the one adjacent to the lobby has. Also like their heated viewing area above the lobby - has snack area, but haven't visited. Love the wooden arches / architecture. Stands big and warm when heated (bring quarters) and the locker rooms are clean and recently renovated and have both showers and a bathroom in them.
