Guanachapis express — Restaurant in Framingham

I am a fan of Guanachapi’s Express in Framingham. I know, Waltham is the original location, but I enjoy this one a bit more. I had the Quesabirria Taco plate inside the Waltham location for the first time after having the plate for takeout from the Framingham location over a dozen times. My conclusion was that the Waltham location had a somewhat dry meat with less flavor and it did not seem as fresh. The consomé was not as rich with that divine beef flavor and it lacked a certain thickness. It’s not supposed to be gravy thick but it’s not as runny as water. I’ve also had the pork tacos, chicken tacos, chicken quesadillas, and Pork Torta before. The torta was not worth $9. I’ll opt for more quesabirria! The other tacos are with cilantro and onion are really good. The quesadilla was worth the money, but I feel like in some ways I am still searching for a rocking quesadilla. I’ll be back for sure! Ni pierden el tiempo aquí. Bueno tu ordenas y luego te sorprenden con lo que ellos quieren. Si no tienen algo lo remplazan con otro plato sin preguntar, después se enojan con uno cuando cuando les muestra el menú que dieron un plato que nada que ver.

I asked for papas locas and on their menu it says French fries with pork belly (chicharrón) and cheese, they brought out fries full of ketchup mayo hot sauce and bits of sausages. I told them that’s not what I ordered and she said the kitchen said that’s how it comes. I told her to go read her own menu and showed it to her. Which then she said that the kitchen substituted the pork belly for sausages because the pork belly was stale. Then she made us pay for it anyways at check out. The caldo de res was not good either. This place is a hidden gem and if I could give them 10 stars I would. As a native Central American I can say that this is authentic salvadorian and hispanic food. Highly recommend their tacos de birria (attached picture), pupusas, breaksfast platter, chicken combo taco. Their flavors are superb and beautifully balanced. Although they have a focus on hispanic food also their american dishes such as the breakfast burrito (highly recommended) have a superior taste. The staff is marvelous, very welcoming and professional. The dishes are ready promptly whether you want to dine in their cozy and clean place, take out to your work/home or app delivery.
