Beautiful clear water with gorgeous backdrop surrounding it. Great for picnics and water sport activities. There is a rental booth that rent kayak, paddle boats, and canoes. For paddle boat is $25/hour and it can fit 4 people. There is an RV park also right by the entrance. Only few spots are available and I believe it is very hard to get a spot. The lady at the ticket booth entrance said that most people booked it a year in advance. Nearby the lake there are a few hiking trails, with Artist Buff being the easy one. The view is super gorgeous in the fall season overlooking the lake. Highly recommended for family outings.

Good spot near the Artist Bluff Point. Cool and calm spot with majestic views of the valley. Generally has a lot of people chilling on shacks or fishing or kids playing in the beach type area during the day time. Great view if visiting during peak fall time. Has accessibility to restrooms and drinking water facilities. Plenty of parking available as well if the other parking lots in the area are full.

Visited here September 16th- 2025 Not pet friendly whatsoever but we managed being late in the season. The second week in September is an ideal time to avoid the crowds! Stunning views of the ski area including the Notch. Close to peak color now despite what might be said in the media- Carry out all of your trash as they have no receptacles present anywhere. Be responsible.

Amazing! One of the most beautiful lakes I have seen so far. The only thing is that there are 2 Echo lake beaches, one is in the Echo Lake State Park, the other one is in Franconia State Park. We paid the parking for the Echo Lake State park, even though we wanted to go to the Franconia one. But still it was breathtaking. The view of the ledge and the greenery is just beautiful. A must see for everyone visiting NH. Would want to go to the Franconia Echo Lake...
