Seneca Rocks is one of the most beautiful spots in West Virginia. The trails range from easy to difficult. Seneca offers a range of activities for everyone from Rock climbing, hiking, fishing, kayaking, site seeing, cavern tours, antiques, etc. The area has many options for lodging. Several campgrounds to sleep under the stars in the area along with beautiful cabins, luxury to rustic and primitive. There are also a few small motel rooms available or stay in a teepee with Yokums Vacationland. While visiting the area, travel close by to Dolly Sods, Spruce Knob, or Blackwater Falls. Take a tour of Seneca Caverns and Smoke Hole Caverns, both located near by.

A beautiful park with a steep switchback trail leading up to an observation deck and access to Seneca Rocks which you can walk out onto. Be careful if you proceed up to the rocks, there are steep vertical cliffs on both sides and you will want to walk carefully so you don't fall to your death and there are many signs that will remind you. You can contact NRocks for guided climbing lessons/tours at this location and a few other spots in the area. This is a popular area for rock climbing and spectating. On nice days you can usually spot climbers.

I'm fat and could get up there in one hour. We stopped at all the switchbacks and a couple extra times. Beautiful observation deck. Views are spectacular. There's a really nice swimming hole past the picnic area. Great view of the rocks. Enjoy the area and have fun!

A fantastic place for a 2-3 day weekend. Walk to the top or go with one of the climbing schools. A fantastic view. Half a day from DC. I was here several times to walk and climb. Go on your Harley. It's a treat. Take your girl. Spend the night. Cuddling nude in a two place sleeping bag is just great. If you go make sure to climb! Bar-b-q dinner. Not a better weekend can be had in the DC area. Many hotels in the area but camp out and...
