Buyer beware! My wife and I discovered this place on a birthday getaway to the hill country. Truth is we enjoyed the wine and the experience for the most part. They even convinced us to join the wine club. I selected the mixed white and red option and we left happy that day. Recently, time came for our first shipment and I received an email stating that the order would be ready soon and to log on to my account if I wanted to make changes. I tried but could not log in successfully. I sent an email requesting help but weeks went by and no one answered. Then, last week I got an email from UPS stating that the wine would be delivered Saturday. Believing , at that point, that I was in the red/white club with wines priced around $40 or $50, I just waited for the wine to arrive. After the shipment failed to arrive, I decided to call. Unfortunately, that’s when things started to go south. The person I spoke to was dismissive and rude. He offered no help on the phone but just told me to email again. I was not reassured by this plan since my first email was either ignored or not received. However when I tried to get further assurance, the person hung up the phone on me while I was mid sentence. Having no other choice, I emailed again. This time I got a response in about a day saying they must not have noticed the first email and that my password had been reset. The reset did work, and I was able to log in. That’s when I found out that they had placed me in their premium wine club and the charge for the shipment that had not yet arrived was almost $900! What made it worse was that the website’s “edit club” link was broken so I wasn’t even able to put myself back in the correct club. Also, based on the poor level of customer service, I just wanted to cancel the membership. When I emailed again, asking to be removed, they responded saying that cancellation was impossible. They offered to change the selection of bottles in the shipment, but a few hours after they sent the email, they had already handed off the package to UPS without actually giving me an opportunity to change my selection. I am shocked by the horrendous customer service and attempt to force me to remain in this club. Apparently they think forcing people to buy something they don’t want is better than developing a long term relationship. I never would have expected this based on my initial experience. I am shocked and extremely...
Read moreWhere do I begin?! I’ll try to keep this short. Coming back from just visiting Italy, earlier this year, I was so excited when I heard about Andreucci in Fredericksburg. It was a must for our Girls Weekend. While the wines are wonderful, the customer service was horrible. I’ve read other reviews on other sites and it seems to be about the same person and lack of professionalism and outright rudeness. The owner and GM were out of town so what happened wasn’t resolved. But you work in the service industry…service is a big part. There are not enough words to describe Carlos’ behavior. Any time he didn’t like what a customer had to say, he called them “drunk”. He addressed one of our girls as “the big girl”! Who does that?!? And he did NOT apologize when called out. There were other tables complaining about his attitude. He seemed to be frustrated and had a lot going on but that doesn’t excuse him. Again, if you can’t be kind in the service industry, get out. I, for one, will never go back. In an industry that’s inundated with wineries, it’s important to stand out and have great customer service …it’s important not to fail. You guys failed. DO BETTER. BE BETTER. BE KIND! And it starts with your...
Read moreUnfortunately, not a 5-star experience based on review of the patio dining. We were really looking forward to visiting Andreucci Winery, especially since we're celebrating our 15-year anniversary. Unfortunately, our experience fell short of expectations. The interior has the potential for a 4-star experience depending what you are looking for.
The service, while friendly, felt more like fast food than a fine dining winery experience. The outdoor patio, which could have been lovely, felt like an afterthought. We were distracted by the sound of traffic, and no music on the patio.
We ordered the margarita pizza, which was more like a cheese pizza with undermelted cheese. A few more minutes in the oven would have made all the difference. The $15 red wine was disappointing, and I only took five sips before stopping.
What struck us as odd was the focus on Italian wines, given the abundance of amazing Texas wines in the area. Perhaps the owners were trying to compensate for the venue's shortcomings?
Despite the disappointments, we appreciate the effort, and with some tweaks, Andreucci Winery could reach its full potential. For now, we'll continue exploring the many amazing wineries in...
