Vogel Orchard — Attraction in Fredericksburg

Original 2 Star Post: Definitely disappointed in Vogel this year. We stopped yesterday on Fathers day to grab peaches and a full 12 jar case of preserves. Peaches are great, the veggies we bought are great, but when I opened the 12 x 16oz case of jam today there were 11 jars in the case.

I don't know who packs the cases of jam but they need to learn how to count, or there needs to be some quality control where they are packed. I don't exactly live close to the orchard so it's not as if I can just drop by...

We went to Fredericksburg to play, eat a burger and buy peaches at Vogel's. Our trip was on Wednesday 22nd. We were so disappointed when we arrived at Vogel's because they were out of peaches. All 4 of us bought the peaches they had left. They told us they were Freestone. They are NOT Freestone or if so it must be a new variety because the peach certainly clings to the seed. I can understand selling out of peaches but I cannot understand telling us a flat lie about the kind of peaches we were buying. The peaches must have been picked very green because I am still trying to get them ripe enough to slice for winter cobblers. Shame on you Vogel's! There will be no next...

Took my neice from Arizona and some friends to get some Fredericksburg peaches and my neice absolutely loved this place ,I thought she was going to buy one of everything in the place, she was visiting from Arizona for a couple of weeks, she loves Texas and we enjoyed that trip and before she left she made us take her back again and that time we went on into Fredericksburg to see the historic 5and dime store plus do all the tastings of jams ,jellies,hot sauce ect then back to vogels to get more peaches ,peach butter ,peach syrup ha ha...
