Just joined about a month ago and loving it! I got the unlimited membership for $29.99 + $15.00 (I think) and I have been in love ever since. With the pass, you get unlimited classes (+ specialized X - Lab classes) and unlimited use of equipment. The gym is HUGE compared to others! There are locker rooms (very clean) with available lockers and the exercise machines have wipe-down stations nearby for my fellow germophobes ;).
The instructors are very professional, in my experience. My only complaint is that I had a personal trainer session, and the dude was 5 minutes late because he was playing on his phone :(... At least try to hide it next time!! Haha! However, I feel the overall atmosphere is people working hard, and it really motivates me to do so, too. The instructors will fit your needs during class, and they always ask if I have any injuries, etc. and adjust the workouts for me.
My experience with customer service isn't at all what other reviewers are saying. The employees at the desk are (usually) friendly and helpful, and over the phone they are, too.
The BEST parts about WOW for me are the individual X-Labs & the lack of whistles, catcalling, etc. Being a young female, I expect to be catcalled at gyms, streets, basically anywhere (it never ends -_-) but I haven't had one bad experience yet at WOW Freehold.
If you're the kind of person who needs to be motivated through group work and intense instructors - this is where you need to be! See...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeen a member for 10+ years, definitely declined over the past years. Equipment is still the same from 2009, yet dues have gone up, which makes no sense, cause clearly a money grab. I get itās a business but for new members, they wonāt see that they donāt put money back into making the gym better for them. They USED to have a juice bar, tanning beds, and babysitting, but now they removed all those amenities while still increasing their dues, with their only selling point is ā24 hr accessā which in business terms, is ākeeping staff for long hours is too expensiveā.
People are chill, LOTS of high schoolers who treat the gym like a playground, leaving weights everywhere, smoking in the locker rooms basically hot boxing everyone walking in there. Thereās signs for no vaping/smoking but no one really enforces it with any meaningful consequences. I couldnāt care less personally but I can see how people can get turned off by it. So just a heads up JS. But people are generally nice and friendly. Everyone may not speak the same language given the area, but we all workout in harmony like the good lord intended.
Personally, have been loyal to them for so long, so I wonāt leave, but if I were looking for a gym, thatās not a planet fitness, Iād probably go somewhere else with more quality equipment and space. But if you want your typical commercial gym, then it is good and has sufficient equipment for the general public.
TLDR: average gym...

Yesterday, I signed up for my class in the morning like always and then went to the class later that evening after making childcare arrangements for my children. I checked into the class and waited several minutes and no one ever arrived. I went up to the front desk where I was told the instructor went home because not enough people were enrolled in the class. By this time, it was too late to enroll in the other class that was happening. I understand that the class was cancelled but why couldnāt anyone call me to tell me? I was the only person enrolled. When they wanted me to sign up, they are calling me everyday, now it was too Much to ask for them to pick up the phone to call or even text ONE person that the class I had signed up for and paid for was cancelled. I spoke the the manager Jose who told me under no uncertain terms that they are under no obligation to contact me at all and then insulted me by saying I didnāt know how gyms work. I have been a member of gyms before, any decent facility will call you if they need to cancel a class you are enrolled in. He made it perfectly clear if it happened again, I would not be contacted. He refused to give any additional contact numbers when asked and then hung up on me. Avoid at all costs. Absolutely terrible...
