Stephenson County Fairgrounds — Attraction in Freeport

They failed to educate about re-entry Our family left after one hour on closing day to go to an ATM before the fairway opened. Upon pulling up to the entrance, they decided it would be appropriate to charge us again.

They said we failed to get stamped and demanded more money. There was no one on the way out to stamp, and they didn't tell us on the way in. I had to escalate to management, which, of course, was happy to oblige and was curious on why they were even called about something so absurd.

The point is that we were treated like trash because we wanted to kill time before the rides opened. So if you leave, make sure you plan not to come back. We had to wait to escalate to management. Only after 30 min of arguing with the entry persons were we awarded reentry when a manager came to deescalate the situation.

We went on the closing day. They should have understood we wanted to spend additional money on rides, and they almost didn't get the green because I refused to pay twice to get in on the same day.

I'll start out with the positives and the only reason I gave it two stars instead of one star. The fairgrounds are kept up well and the place is pretty clean. Now on to the big disappointments. I visited the beef Society tent thinking they would have excellent hamburgers and was terribly disappointed. I could tell right away they didn't like my appearance because I have tattoos and they seem to be very judgemental and not very nice. First Burger they served me was like a charcoal lump and crunchy. I took one bite spit it out and brought it back and they seemed a little upset at me. They begrudgingly slid the piece of charcoal out of the bun and slid a new burger in its place. It looked normal on the outside so I started eating it and found that it was dripping blood in the middle. At that point I was disgusted and just threw it in the trash and continued on showing the kids to the fair animals. And I also can't believe that after all these years they still don't sell beer like...

Not worth the money to get in

im an old geezer,so i dont care that they only had 3 big rides and only a handful of kiddie rides but when you have to fill the exhibit buildings with tractors thats just bad !!! also,to only have 13 food vendors on the second day of the fair is,to my mind PATHETIC !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
