Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Temple(NTHS) — Attraction in Frisco

[PLEASE READ ENTIRE REVIEW BEFORE CONSIDERING THIS TEMPLE"S SERVICES] In a time of growing Hindu-phobia and negative stereotypes about us Hindus, one of the saddest and most disheartening things to see is a priest which such dark intentions in his heart.

The priest is a known scam artist.

He puts one's spiritual salvation at a price. He charged me $100 to buy a Mala and lied to me by saying it is pure silver to justify the price. I paid him knowing his lies but believing that the money would support the Temple. Instead the money went to his personal bank account.

He also did a birthday Pooja for a family friend and refused to wear a mask during a pandemic despite being asked to do so. He also seems to very concerned about other's caste and will ask about it. This sort of questions are off-putting and outdated and needs to stay in the past.

What is the most concerning to me is having this priest like this be a representative of Santana Dharma. I have no doubt in my mind that he has turned people away from Hinduism due to his unethical actions. A priest must be a guru who cares for the well-being of the deity and uplift the spirits of those who come to the Temple. But all he seems to care about his money. Went in today for the first time, he was forcing for donation for baba mala for $240. And he started giving me his zelle details when asked for temple account. He kept us on spot to donate when I said I will think about it.

I got an archana done , for that he said there is no ticket or anything but asked me to pay $21 again to his zelle.

AND chewing gutka(mouth tobacco)!! He was smelling real bad from his mouth. Gosh!

I don’t know how the committee is still considering him to continue.

I went on a Monday evening. The temple was closed even during its working hours as shown in the website and onsite. I called the priest, he said he'll arrive in 5 minutes. 30 minutes later I called him again - no response. Then I called from one of my friends number, he responded this time and said 5 minutes again. I was fed up waiting for over an hour there before I left.
