St. Johns River State College — Attraction in Fruit Cove

I chose this college due to its proximity to my home. This site was once a prison in the past during the 1950's that history has been blocked out of memory by its little documentation. I'm curious if the same owners of the prison still own this place today. When you go to the office, I've experienced staff that greet you with "what do you want? Not the best greeting when your a paying customer/prospective student. A lot of the staff is very helpful and sincere. Financial aid hasn't updated their voicemail since last summer, let alone answer the phone during working hours, I find myself calling to the main campus in Palatka to seek help, which in my opinion, overall, are more helpful than this OP campus. The student mental health counselor will schedule an appointment for two months in to the future when you seek mental health assistance. I want to complain more in depth though I will hold my reservations in fear of retailiation. I would suggest if you can find a better school, go for it, this may not be your best choice. Bad experience overall... an a lady name Teresa was very rude.(both orange park & Palatka). Apparently she's the only one who evaluates transcripts which takes FOREVERRRR. I was never told I had to be registered( have a seat in a class) to get my transcripts evaluated for the up coming semester. When i told her that, she was very rude about it . I was trying to get everything turned in before the semester started which I was told I could start and to give them a call back when I did everything...(Turned in all my documents etc..) but everything changed. I had to do an appeal just to start. Because of financial aid which I was told I DID have enough money for the classes but they told me i needed more money; financial aid told me this at the orange park campus. I'm like what... everything was a push back for me idk why the ppl at this school lied... like come on.. If you're trying to better yourself by going back to school again choose another college. My experience here was the worse.....YOU HAVE...

If I am able to put zero start will be great. My son registered and we paid for his entire registration on December 3, when it was January 8, all his classes were canceled. He had to sign up for new classes and took his first class the next day. The next day of school he could not attend because his classes were canceled again without any type of notification. I don't understand how after paying everything in full according to the system, my son's classes are canceled twice. No one can help and the person who could help after answering the phone once does not answer, this person's name is Shyla. Super professional to cancel classes without notification. If the administrative service is like that, I don't know what education is like. call more than 5 times, they make you wait and no one can solve it. Do not enroll your children in this college, do not even do it for yourself. Personal recommendation losing $1000 is not...
