An excellent (and only) fresh New York Bagel option in Jacksonville with excellent customer service! I recently attended the Grand Re-Opening of the Holey Moley Bagel Bar in Jacksonville. The shop has new owners and an entire shop make-over. The shop is very inviting, clean, and offers a comfortable seating area. One entire wall features a custom-painted mural while other walls exhibit local artwork. There is a neat coffee bar with numerous syrup selections to compliment locally-roasted coffee. There are also display cases with pastries and shelves full of fresh bagels ready to be selected. The Burch family has truly poured their hearts and souls into this fine shop. I ordered several items and was very pleased with each of them. I first tried the KB Special based on a recommendation from the cashier. One of their daily specials, the breakfast sandwich, featured bacon and egg on a French toast bagel drizzled with maple syrup. The was a perfect balance of salty and sweet. I was very pleased and would order it again. I next tried the “Debo” breakfast sandwich on an Asiago Everything Bagel. This sandwich had seasoned chopped steak, egg, peppers, and smoked gouda cheese. This was everything! It was very filling and was a complete meal. I was most impressed with how fresh everything tasted and was shocked (and impressed) to learn they make eggs fresh for every order. They literally crack and scramble eggs for each order. None of their food is waiting under a heat lamp and everything is prepared quickly and delicious for every order. Finally, I tried the Lox on a Garlic Bagel. My choice included the veggie cream cheese layered with fresh sliced tomato and red onion, capers, and plenty of smoked salmon. In addition to the fresh bagels and pastries, there is a very nice coffee bar, plenty of beverage options and breakfast bowls and platters, and sub sandwiches. The shop also advertises catering. It’s very important to point out that this location is called the Holey Moley Bagel Bar (not shop) as there is a different location with different owners. During my experience at the Bagel Shop, I was impressed by the continual interaction between the staff and customers. They treated everyone like family, but also acted very professionally and maintained a clean environment. Overall, the Holey Moley Bagel Bar is a wonderful locally owned and operated business with amazing customer service and outstanding bagels and food. I highly recommend checking them out!

We will not be back. Two stars as the jalapeno bagel is delicious with cream cheese. First impression is a lasting impression. Stopped by to try out 'holey moley's' bagels off of College Dr in Orange Park, FL. First walked in and the lady behind the counter gave me no greeting. I had to start talking of which I informed her "I would like to place a to go order". She seemed flustered for some odd reason. Anywho, I got the Deebo on the jalapeno bagel bread with garlic and herbs cream cheese. The bagel with the cream cheese by itself is amazing. There were a few peppers and the steak was tiny and thin cut. It should have fitted the entire bagel but didn't. I could not enjoy the bagel sandwich as the meat was very, very salty. I took that out along with the eggs and ate just the bagel and the cream cheese. My husband's egg omelet platter was a child's portion size and looked as if we made it at home for the kids. Very small, I was hoping the light feeling of the box was because they cooked the eggs a certain way, but nah.... It was tiny. He did not receive the toast that was supposed to come with his platter. Just a small portion of the home fries. Advertisement is incorrect. Very costly for the small portions with the platter. I can say the bagel itself is very delicious but the meat is too salty (inedible). The Deebo is too expensive with the little salty steak that came with. Maybe they will improve in a year or two.

Delicious food, and super cozy atmosphere. The bagels are perfect, soft on the inside toasty (if you get it toasted) on the outside. They have a large variety of flavors, we got 'everything asiago' and 'french toast'. I got a sandwich on the asiago, a pork roll and cheese, and it was very good. I didn't know what a pork roll was, but I was told it's like "if ham and bologna had a baby" and that's exactly what it tastes like! The home fries and cut up super small, I'm thinking they use red potatoes or maybe those small yellow ones. Either way, the taste was perfect, and you can eat a big spoonful all at once. Also, if you ask them to make them extra crispy, they actually will!

The bagels are freakin delicious. I like to buy them by the dozen and I don't mind driving a little ways to get them. I arrived Sunday morning around 9:30am and they were already sold out of half the bagel flavors having been only open for a couple hours. I was polite when asking if there were more in the back and the surly high school girl working the counter simply said no. That was fine since we could make due with all seeded or cheesed bagels as I mentioned they are freakin delicious. So I went through the bagels I wanted and she painstakingly put them into small bags 2 at a time. I wanted a bakers dozen which is commonly 13 bagels. Right? Not at this bagel shop. I went to the other Holey Moley before on Baymeadows and they gave me a baker's dozen--which is 13 in every bagel shop I've ever been to in my life. I asked how come I don't get 13 bagels and she told me it's because I'm paying for 12. I said have you ever heard of a baker's dozen? Her answer was simply, "No". I asked her if this was owned by the same guy as the other Holey Moley bagel shop on Baymeadows and she said "No". So I gave up on the surly high schooler, paid and left.

Message to owners: Your bagels are freakin delicious but if you want to call yourself a bagel shop you need to make it easier to buy bagels and cream...
