There's a great basketball court here in Fruitland that doesn't seem to get used very often, if you'd like to come play don't hesitate to come out and BRING your FRIENDS! This is a beautiful place to visit for fishing, picnics/BBQ, playing sports, and observing any local wildlife in or outside the waters edge. Fruitland Park police officers will often patrol in or around this park, which allows people to feel safer and more comfortable. I often come here during certain months to catch native tadpoles, minnows, and aquatic insects for personal study and observation. I have also done some fishing here as well over the years, and caught several Bass and Catfish. American Alligators have been seen here at this park, but it is not very often. I recommend Veterans Memorial Park to anyone who wishes to have a day of fun...
