American Legion Post 219 — Local services in Fruitland Park

I absolutely had a wonderful time meeting Bob and Larry and volunteering with my friend Kathryn and her sister Stephanie. I joined the American legion that day. My grandmother was a president of the VFW in agawam Massachusetts. My grandfather served in world war 2. It was a pleasure to volunteer and be a part of something special. I just called because they were the closest post I could find to Apopka Florida where there is a Marine fighting the VA for his benefits who is out of work and his oven quit working just before Christmas. When I called and asked if they were the closest Post I was told they didn't know and to Google it. Visited here a few years ago and was welcomed by many at the bar. Went back recently and not one person even said hello. They whisphered and looked at us from across the bar.
