This school gets a one star because I can not give it a Zero. My main concern for this school is safety and security. There is absolutely no Campus Safety at this school despite what they advertise online. While I was there an entire athletic team had there phones stolen from an intruder on the campus. No one on the campus including the staff takes charge to keep doors locked and also expect campus security guards to open doors for anyone who asks. The staff doesn’t require any ID or credential check. Online it says the security guards are "professionals" yet don't even require a simple guard card to work there. Homeless people surround the school and are often found sleeping in class rooms, using drugs on campus, destroying school property or threatening to harm people on the campus or simply creeping around the dorm area. (In some cases they’ve even accessed the dorms!) The Staff encourage students to enter rooms or areas during closed hours(even if it’s late at night) and require security to open it for them and as a result the doors are left unsecured. Don't be fooled by this campus and there behavior of sweeping the crime rate under the rug. This is not an issue of the actual security guards, this issue is from the top! The leaders of this school have no regard for campus safety what so ever. The security guards are treated poorly by the staff and require security to work by there protocols even if it’s not best for the safety...
Read moreI raised my 5 children differently. Yes we homeschool, yes our eldest also attended public school part of her education years. We thought we were truly signing on to a Christian campus with a Christian dance team that was not the case. My daughter‘s dance coach was often late with a Starbucks in her hand though if a team member was late there was no grace shown. There was also favoritism. I feel the coach has a lot of maturing to do in her own private life, and that it influenced how she dealt with her team. Our daughter is highly intelligent and was in the honors ministry program and she did make The Dean’s list, though we only stayed 1 semester. There is so much that goes on in those dorms. They are not supervised. The food is the worst food that I have had personally, some of the stuff she brought with her when she came home (almost every weekend because it was so boring there) we tossed in the trash if. So prospective parents high school graduates and families if you want to attend a school that will gladly take your money feed you less than quality food and allow so much sinful things to happen in their own dorm room and on their own campus then come here. PaPa God might have you here to bring more change but please pray...
Read moreI am currently enrolled at HIU and I'm planning on transferring. I'm writing this review because I just saw all the one-sided reviews that you will probably read, and I thought of the 18 year old kid thinking about coming here based on those lies. First, the size of Hope is great in the classroom; I know my professors and they know me, however, I dislike seeing the same 50 people everyday. I also dislike being surrounded by unintelligent people; I thought I was in college, not middle school. It seems like Hope will enroll anyone who can pay the tuition, no matter what their GPA is. I'm an outgoing person and do many things, but there's nothing to do in Fullerton. It is extremely boring and I find myself going home on weekends instead of staying on campus. As a student it is mandatory to live on campus, in the dorms, all 5 years. And yes, it usually takes 5 years to graduate because of all the Bible classes. I'm an athlete here and I love my coach, and love my team. They're the only reason I came back for a second year. Hope is too expensive for what I'm getting out of my college experience, and I would not recommend it to any...
