Before coming to this location, I've only ever had Philz brought to me by friends/family...so now I finally get the whole "one cup at a time" thing! They LITERALLY make one* cup of coffee at a time (*one person makes your coffee, but there is typically more than one person making coffee)
Coffee: Plethora of choices! Their menu is nicely divided into dark, medium, light roasts, 3 iced drinks, and teas. They make it incredibly easy to make your drink. You pick one, pick a sweetness level, and bam. Go pay, go wait, and go enjoy. No espresso here! My first thought: "that's wild". BUT it works, in my opinion. Every cup is made as a pour-over and it works and so why change it up? Also, I would assume it helps save them money? Espresso machines are expensive - to purchase and maintain.
Food: Looks good, but I didn't try anything. I did witness someone bite their bagel and exclaim "wow this is good" - that was my extent of their food.
Inside: Nice environment! It's rather bright (white walls, wide windows, etc), but they make it as relaxing as possible. They got high tables, couches, solo tables, etc. Good place for people to get some laptop work done as there are plenty of outlets - also they have free Wi-Fi.
MY RECOMMENDATION: New Manhattan! It's a lighter roast so expect more caffeine. Flavor how you'd like BUT I found going medium on sweetness and creamer is magical - aka, Philz Way. That's just me though. ALSO...I...

This was my first time trying this coffee chain. Tonight was rainy and thought a nice, warm coffee sounded nice, and I was possibly going to get my toddler something if there were hot chocolate options for her. The person who attended me, an older woman, seemed very rushed with me and did not allow me even a minute to look over the menu myself. When it was time to pay she mentioned that they have a policy during this pandemic to have customers wait outside while their orders are ready..... againāit was RAINING. By the time I finished ordering it was POURING out. So I had to rush out my with toddler in my arms under the rain to wait āfive minutesā that the woman recommended. By the time I ran back ināagain, through POURING RAINāmy coffee was warm at best. To my dismay, it was not worth this situation. I have had 7 Eleven coffee taste better.
I am very angry at the way this woman handled this situation. She wanted to respect her storeās policy to wait outside, regardless of the ugly rain I ran through with my daughter, but allowed the man waiting behind me to stay inside while they have a sign that says āone party inside at a time.ā Sooo this staff member picked and chose which āpolicyā to respect. Iām šÆ sure she would have handled this different had I been white like her, and not obviously a...

Philz impressed me. First the blends of coffee are... Unique... I didn't know where to start so asked the gentleman his favorites which he was immediately able to tell me 2. I picked the darker roast - not cream or sugar. Brewed it up and handed it over. Very strong flavors that you could actually taste - unlike the snobbery that tries to sell you on subtle differences... Just remember it's all in the grind not to fine not too rough... The coffee was a little too hot for me so I asked for a cup of ice - I prefer to drink mine warm not hot so I can drink not sip. Instead, they took my cup and hand aerated it to preserve the flavor. I'm not sophisticated enough to appreciate the flavor profile change of a piece of ice... But the level of customer service was amazing. They offered to make a different cup, add sugar, add cream, etc. I didn't complain at all, just asked for a cup of ice to cool it down and multiple employees went out of their way to ensure I was satisfied. This is not the service level I get elsewhere when travel companions have to get their fix.
Coffee is good, service...
