Read moreThe trail is largely geared for small walks, small hikes, and light biking. Small pets are allowed on a leash, and you'll be able to get great sunset or sunrise photos from top of hill. You'll also fine a few benches and tables along the preserve. Now, the preserve is small, around 0.5 miles. From there, to skyline drive to the edge and end of ridgeline drive , and back, that trip will end up being around 1.75 to 2.0 miles. If you continue downwards towards the kids' baseball league field and onto brea Street and onto bastenchury Street and back to the parking lot, it turns into a 3 mile to 3.25 circle trip. For walkers and runners, the scenery is normally presented as being an upscale neighborhood with tailored and manicured paths. Littered with flowing downhills and steep uphills. For bikers, there are fast dirt trails and challenging uphills. For scenic people, the trail is open to taking photos. It's a clean and upscale location; with friendly people on the trail. Eye candy all around!! Not the type you're probably thinking of... but abundant, nonetheless! Bunnies, butterflies, squirrels, dragonflies, and oodles of flowers, trees & flowering bushes! And the views from up top gasp .... I can't wait to return for an evening excursion and take in the view of the city lights below!!
The terrain varies along the path from paved trail, to horse trail, dirt & rocks, grass & mulch.... Definitely not a monotonous trek! Just be sure to stay on the trails and watch the signs... There is private property belonging to the nearby golf course and they want you to STAY OUT/OFF!
