I had had vaguely heard of Fulton, MO, I believe I had read its name whilst zooming in on Google Maps an hour before I saw a sign for the National Churchill Museum. Always a fan of any museum, and knowing comparatively little about Churchill overall, I made an impulsive decision to take the exit & see what it had to offer.

And I could not have been more impressed, a small little college in Fulton has produced a world class museum out of a single event, Churchill traveling all the way to Fulton to give a speech at their campus decades ago. That speech gave birth to a top notch exhibit at Westminster college that without question rivals the George W Bush presidential library on the campus at Southern Methodist University in Dallas.

Two hours (and I could have stayed longer) after making that impulsive exit off HWY 54, I walked out of the National Churchill museum and into the bright sunlight of day with a profound understanding of the man, his amazing life of accomplishment & travel after surprisingly unpromising school career. I left the museum in awe of the man & of this small town & college that took a chance on asking one of the greatest leaders in the history of the world to travel across the ocean to come give a speech in the middle of nowhere.

Also, I inquired but didn’t get an answer: Small suggestion: if the college still has the program which invited a distinguished person to speak at their campus each year may I suggest they take another bold chance & invite the current leader of Ukraine (Volodymyr Zelenskyy) to come give a speech in Fulton just as Churchill once did.

He’s one of the rarest breed of politicians, a man who can inspire people to put their lives on the line to defend the very same values that Churchill so eloquently expressed.

All in all I could not have made a better decision than to stop out of the blue to check check I out the museum. Well done guys....

America’s National Churchill Museum may be a bit off the beaten path, but it’s absolutely worth the trip. Located on a picturesque college campus, the museum offers a fascinating experience for anyone interested in history.

The museum does an excellent job telling the story of Winston Churchill’s life and legacy, including his pivotal role in world events. One of the most unique aspects is the historic church that houses the museum—a beautiful structure that was carefully relocated from London to Missouri. The interior is stunning.

The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and always willing to answer questions or provide additional context. Outside, you’ll find impressive statues of Churchill and even a segment of the Berlin Wall, reinforcing the museum’s deep historical significance. Be sure to also visit the nearby gymnasium where Churchill gave his iconic "Iron Curtain" speech.

For history lovers, this museum is a must-visit. It’s a unique and thoughtfully curated destination that brings global history to life in the heart...

This was a wonderful museum. We were pleasantly surprised. We only got through the permanent exhibit of the life of Churchill. They have a couple of other exhibits on rotation. There is also a small gift shop across from the ticket booth. The staff were very kind and helpful. Parents of William woods students and students are Free. Currently $12 for adults. There is a discou.t for children and seniors. We spent just under 2 hours reading everything in the permanent exhibit about Churchhill's life. It has a lot of detail on World War I and even more of WWII. There are a few steps down as you come in. They have a wheelchair lift to get down to the main museum floor. You can access the St. Mary's church from the spiral staircase in the middle of the museum. There is also a piece of the Berlin wall in the Plaza in front of the church. There is free reserved parking right across the street on the east side of the museum. Entrance to the museum is on the southeast corner...

Beautiful setting on the campus of Westminster College in Fulton, MO. Westminster was the place where Winston Churchill gave his famous "Iron Curtain" speech in 1946. You can spend a fair bit of time here. The museum has a lot on the life and times of Churchill, as well as the time and setting of the speech. In a fine tribute to all who fought the unvarnished evil of communism and socialism, now vilely rearing up again, there is a 50' or so section of the former Berlin Wall outside. The building itself that houses the museum is a beautiful English church building, mostly destroyed by German National Socialists in WWII. What was left was disassembled, shipped to America, and reconstructed fully. The building was originally designed by Sir Christopher Wren after the disastrous London Fire of 1666. There's a small fee to enter, and a nice gift shop. Both help maintain the museum. *Well* worth the visit.
