Overall this place is a great option to avoid fast food and take a fresher route.
Pros: Food was pretty good everything was hot and fresh tasting! I was pretty satisfied and will probably come back.
Cons: Anything down town is difficult to find parking. Lack of signs, it was kinda hard to find at first. The sandwich I got didn't look like it was advertised. I expected a cold light sandwich, the picture made it look like the salmon was raw (cured salmon) and looked like it had a light white sauce of some kind. It was the opposite, the sandwich was hot the salmon was cooked and shredded, definitely a cheaper salmon. It wasn't bad, just not what I expected, and not worth the price.
I ordered for pickup over the phone, I wanted to order online but there was no cash option so I had to call, wish they would change that.
Pricing is a bit high. 18 basically 19 bucks for a salmon sandwich and maybe half a cup of fries. I didn't even get a drink. I understand I got salmon, but I still think it was pretty pricey and fries weren't a standard side so I had to pay extra for it... The woman taking my order on the phone didn't mention the extra cost, but I knew about it because I tried ordering online first. Charging extra for fries seems pretty rediculous to me.
So yeah in summary I'll probably be back and get a cheaper sandwich. I think they should review their side options and a few...
Read moreAfter reading the glowing reviews regarding this restaurant we were excited to finally get a chance to sample the Cuban cuisine. What a disappointment. The $3.99 cup of coffee was nothing special. I had a Frita burger, $9.99, it was awful. It was cool, obviously not freshly cooked, probably put in the microwave for a minute, hard and dried out. It was supposed to come on a "sweet" bun but came on a run of the mill white bun. My companion had a Elena Ruz Sandwich, $10.99. Supposed to be served on “Cuban” bread instead was served on white baguette style bread. Tasted good but had very little meat on it, mostly bread and jelly, accompanied by about 3 ounces of potato salad. We ordered plantains, $1.99. They were very soggy. The Entrees are a better deal since they come with sides. However the day we were there the waiter said there was only three Entrees available because his supplier would not be in till Monday. We spent about $36.00 and it was not worth it. Really don't know if we will...
Read moreI married into a Cuban family over 47 years ago. We love Cuban food. Not much of that to be had in middle Missouri, though we heard that there was a Cuban café in Fulton. Today we finally got the chance to go there. Such a nice place. Very clean, very interesting as it is in an historic building, very unpretentious and welcoming. It is clear that they care about what and who they are serving. Jimmie was our server, our host, a cook, and it felt like we parted friends. We also had a great conversation with the owner John. Cant recommend this place highly enough. Also can't wait to go back. -- wow, all that said and I didn't mention the food. We both had Cuban entrees and they were authentic and wonderful. And the spring salad was to die...
