Beautiful view, until you actually try to go stand near it. If you try to go past the picnic tables, you're met with dog poop before the water. You can't exactly look up and enjoy the view, without having to dodge poop at every step. There were just piles of it on the waters edge, and we couldn't exactly enjoy ourselves on this nice windy sunny day. "Good place to walk the dog" of course since it's just a free range poop area. We saw one woman and her husband bring out their dog just long enough to poop, and not pick it up. If someone is in charge of cleaning up this place they're getting a check for doing absolutely nothing. After being bombarded by poop me my mother and my child see a woman, white subaru kinda car with a grey luggage carrier on top, literally leave her car, walk out almost to the waters edge and dump her trash, didn't even bother picking up the grocery bag she got whatever meal in it, and walked away. A service station is literally right across from the park, with trash cans either outside or inside, and I guess it was just too much work for her to throw away her trash where it's supposed to be thrown away. There is also a trash can out there, though it is one I guess some people are just too lazy walk over to it. The trash can was pretty empty, and I can see why. I thought better of Hendersonville residents to not trash their own park, it's such a lush and thriving place, and it should be better taken care of. You guys should really start fining people, put up some cameras, catch some license plates and mail some fines to people that can't simply keep a park clean. Thats what we do here in Nashville, and I really recommend it to Hendersonville. Big disappointment for a city so successful on the...
Read moreNice place to kayak or canoe up the creek. This creek goes through the query so there's not to many places to get out and rest or picnic. There are a couple places to get out and swing from trees at the beginning of the creek. But I didn't see and dry ground or rocky places to hang out or dry out. Water is a little swampy in spots but the ducks seemed to love it. This is a great place for bird watching as well. There are also lots and lots of turtles of many kinds all around. Didn't see snakes but im sure there...
Read moreThis quaint little park is right off Nashville Pike (Highway 31). It’s a peaceful reprieve. The park has pavilion, porta john, and a nice view of the water (it’s a little cut-away creek that runs off the Cumberland River). I really love this place and find myself parking there and journaling...
