I completed the original review due to an email offering a discount on storage fees if left a review on Google. I felt I left a fair and honest review of the facility. I was then hit with another rate increase the exact day I left the review. Maybe a coincidence, but odd. Since then, the new emails reads a discount on 1 months rate for a positive review.
I feel I should make it very clear. Iâve been with this company for multiple years and most problems arise when the new owners took over. I have since, left this company and found a storage solution elsewhere. Being a business owner I do not believe in deceptive practices and policies and I feel that this company is going to do anything they can to assess additional fees. The clearest example would be notification of expired insurance. Every year I would get a notification that the insurance card required to have the unit is about to expire and they needed an updated one. Simple request call your insurance agent the email it over bing bang boom done.
However, last year I did not get the notification email and the storage facilities insurance rate was just applied to my monthly bill. When I called to inquire I was told that the owners policy is not to notify their tenants and to assess the additional charge. Now donât get me wrong, this is $12. But the practice of taking every opportunity to assert additional fees is a bad business practice. We are talking about an automated email to Customer saying your insurance is about to expire. You need to provide us with a new copy of your insurance or we will imply our insurance at additional fees, as they have done every year previously.
I generally take reviews very seriously, as I understand the power of a Google review. If I have a bad experience with the waiter at a restaurant, or similar situations I do not go online and slam them with a Google review. One employee or situation does not define a business. However, this bothers me due to the fact most of my complaints stemmed from the owners down, and this is a service that once youâve moved your belongings into theyâre facility, they know it is a huge inconvenience to cancel and move somewhere else, and you will most likely continue to pay any increase they asses.
As with the original post, I do want to point out the on-site staff that I have encountered at the actual facility is phenomenal, Jessica is the current manager there, and has always been more than happy to help in any instance Iâve required.
Original: Great storage facility. Very clean. Notice spider webs when we enter our unit, but thatâs to be expected. I do have an issue with the fact that we decided to rent here as the rate was less than our previous storage unit. Then as soon as they were legally allowed, we received dramatic rate increase. Which looks like their standard business practice based off of similar reviews. If we wouldâve known that wouldâve been the issue, we would not have moved storage facilities. Their response is that they do analysis every 6 months and adjust rates to whatever they can charge you. Which is a little shady as you have already moved your belongings. Their cost to operate has not increased, just their profit, which in my mind is an unfair business practice. Furthered by their rotating staff or lack there of, means they donât offer competitive enough pay to employees, as both the employees I have had dealings with were awesome people who enjoyed working there.
Also every once in a while, having push carts at each entrance can be an issue. But I believe theyâve added more to rectify that problem.

   Read moreI rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Storelocal Storage in Gallatin deserves a caution to others. I initially called on July 14th to make a reservation, not realizing the local office was closed and my call was routed to a call center. During the process, I discovered that Storelocal does not prorate the final month of rent, so I canceled the reservation. It took multiple follow-up calls just to confirm my refund, though the call center eventually got in touch with the district manager to resolve it.
Despite that, I decided to visit the local office the following day to check out the facility in person. I met Grace, who was fantasticâprofessional, helpful, and genuinely customer-focused. After seeing the larger units with high clearance, I decided to rebook a reservation directly with her, fully understanding the billing terms this time.
Fast forward two weeksâI return to pay and move in, only to find my reservation had been canceled and the larger units were now sold out. No one had notified me of the cancellation. I was left without a storage unit and scrambling to find a climate-controlled, first-floor alternative.
To make matters worse, Grace tried to resolve the issue by asking her manager and possibly the district manager to honor the original rate by offering two smaller units at the same price. But instead of working with me to find a fair solution, management refused, citing confusion around the original reservationâeven though it was made in person with a local associate. I was told the second reservation was also canceled simply because the first had been, which makes no sense.
In the end, management showed zero flexibility or accountability. A simple solutionâmatching the rate on two smaller unitsâwould have made this right. Instead, I left frustrated, inconvenienced, and without a storage unit.

I started by calling the office to inquire about availability, and I was immediately greeted by a friendly and helpful representative. She answered all of my questions and helped me find the perfect unit for my needs.
When I went to the facility to sign the paperwork I was even more impressed. The office was clean and well-organized, and the staff was friendly and professional. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of the units. They were all clean and well-maintained, and they were a great place to store my belongings.
