Great little beach! It's tucked away from all the crowds and there is not as much people (a good thing!). We always come here for our annual summer family vacation! My only frustration and disappointment is that everything is about MONEY- This year, we paid the one time entrance fee then after a while we had to go get ice and apparently they charged my mom a re-entrance fee despite our ticket being right smack dab there on our car dashboard! Like seriously?! Guess that's how y'all make money, huh. That's how y'all pay those people sitting on their a** so peacefully in that little booth charging cars the beach...
Read morePretty little secluded beach area on Galveston Island. I love that we were able to drive our cars onto the beach and park them right by the shore. The waves are very small and the water was warm (in mid June). You can see lots of birds - seagulls and other larger birds that dive and swoop into the ocean to catch fish. The sun and humidity are like none other so bring lots of sunscreen, and perhaps an umbrella if it isn't too windy (it's usually really windy), and some camping chairs to sit in. Would definitely recommend this beach to anyone traveling or otherwise! The entrance fee was $12 on the day we went but...

Galveston, the beach that Texas simply does not care about. It's dirty and polluted but who cares as people still find their way here because it's the closest thing available.
Luckily for me, this time it seemed a bit cleaner. I did'n't have the pollution smell on me and it was enjoyable.
Maybe Texas is actually going to start caring about the beaches? But I don't think you should hold your breath.
