Lake Benson Dog Park — Attraction in Garner

Well maintained and very large area for dogs to run and play. They have 2 areas, one for larger dogs 26 lbs and up and one for smaller dogs. Their is a self draining water fountain fornthe pups. They provide pick-up bags and try to keep the dispensers filled but if there are a lot of dogs sometimes they run out. Not really an issue because everyone brings their own anyway. The fenced portion is not as big as other parks but I like it that way. Much easier to monitor all the dogs and still plenty room to play. The park is well taken care of. There's a big community of dog people here who are so friendly and caring too. Lots of places to park, the playground for children is close by, restrooms are close by, can see Lake Benson through the trees. My dog isn't quite old enough to use the dog park, but I can't wait to take her. I've been to Lake Benson park several times and always see quite a few dogs at the dog park, especially in the large dog area.
