I took my family there last Sunday: This is a Six Flags park that has a lot of charm and a decent collection of coasters, however the operations and service there is severely lacking. That is my overall impression of the park, but I'll go into further details,
Things the park does RIGHT: The park has a good variety of rides for the family and a great collection of roller coasters, that are much better than some of the Brand's other parks. The Scorcher and Mind Riddler were my favorite steel rides and the entire family loved the Scream Machine. Wait times on the rides were all great, with us able to board many of the coasters with little to no wait at all.
Plus, the Monster Mansion dark ride was incredibly well designed with Amazing original theming and was something I wouldn't have expected from a Six Flags branded park. One aspect of the park that I appreciated was that the classic rides like the carousel and air balloon ride were set up on a hill in the woods, which make it seem especially charming.
What the park does ALL WRONG: The majority of employees here do not seem to care at all about customer service, especially the ones working in food service. It took us almost an hour to order and get our food and that's with only one couple in front of us in front of us in line. Rather than take our order four employees stood around talking behind the counter with complete disregard for the families waiting in line to place an order. After waiting nearly 15 minutes for the employees to take the customer ahead of your orders, the employees again went back to talking making me wait at least 10 minutes before allowing me to order. They then informed me that I couldn't pay in cash, so I had to leave the cafeteria to load money on a card. I had no choice but to return to this same in park restaurant, because my wife wasn't feeling well. They seemed to have no regard for the fact that my diabetic wife desperately needed to eat something, because when I returned to find two families ahead us, I again had to wait in line as they stood around talking for 10-15 minutes between each order, taking only on order at a time, despite being adequately staffed and having multiple registers.
I saw something similar on the Joker fun house ride, a group of employees talking for long periods of time while the riders were waiting, rather than doing their job to ensure that the ride protocols were followed. This resulted in long delays between dispatches. The general attitude of park employees across the park seemed to be that personal conversations were more important than the customer experience. Many of the employees seemed to be going through the motion at a pace that showed a general lack of enthusiasm.
My final complaints deal more with customer service and operations. First, the park did not honor it's advertised prices, we called to see if they would and they told us that the price advertised is subject to change. We were told that the higher priced ticket includes both the water park and the amusement park, when in fact the water park wasn't open at all (as it is seasonal). This didn't effect our experience, because we weren't planning on going to the water park anyway but it is still pretty scummy to advertise one price and not honor it online, over the phone, or even in person.
Lastly, several of the major rides were not working at all or as advertised . Rides that were closed included the water ride Thunder River, the major drop ride, and the new children's coaster Kids Flash (which was something my son wanted to ride). One ride that was open Justice League: Battle for Metropolis was not as described. It is advertised as a 4D ride, but the park does not provide the 3D glasses to make it work as intended. So, you go through the ride looking at blurry 2D screens (it is obvious the screens were designed to viewed with 3D glasses), ruining what would otherwise be an incredible ride. I requested a pair, but the ride operator told me 3D glasses were not necessary (the instructions provided by monitors in the queue...
Read more11 AM get my meal pass with my âTWO MEAL DININGâ and my âSEASON PAPER PLUS CUPâ wasnât told nothing about waits or anything so I asked employees âno you just get a new cup each time you keep the old oneâ WRONG! Another staff member said there was a 3 hour wait between cups so I had already tossed mine way earlier in the trash. He got another cup and gave me it for ICEE very confusing on the cup. wanted a refill go with âMY OWN CUPâ to a stand was charged for a âMEAL PASS USEâ unknowingly. Second meal time is coming up go along with party and try using my pass to eat. Miners cook house. Staff scans my âPRESTIGE CARD WITH TWO MEAL PASSES â$18+â Me âI have a MEAL PASSâ Staff scans barcode again âlet me scan it againâ Staff âit says here you already ate your meal you sure you ainât ate nothingâ Me âno I didnât I didnt get no foodâ Staff âyou didnât get a snack, food, somethingâ Me âNo no no I donât eat anything only at 11Am. More staff come over.âYou canât get another meal you already ateâ âYou used it on food we canât do nothing for youâ Me âalright Iâll just go complain thenâ. Staff âOk!â I exhausted low on sugars and carbs begin to fill very nauseated make my way across the entire park to âGUEST RELATIONSâ waiting in a huge line cause there barely staff standing in heat getting more nauseated and begin to sweat. Finally my turn I tell guest relations what has happened. I said âif Iâm paying for these VIP perks why is there a problem on using themâ they say âthereâs no reason staff should be making errors like theseâ they gave me free âSIX FLAGS CASH AND A MEGA MEAL PASSâ. I say thank you feeling good that the matter was fixed. Well it wasnât here comes another issue. I have to use the meal pass all at once that day. Nearly closing time so we ask well is my pass ceviche cotton candy Staff member âyes but our booth is out go to candy storeâ we ask a supervisor âcan we use our pass towards it as a snackâ. The supervisor said yes to my spouse and gave her the $5.99 cotton candy. WRONG âthey used my âMEAL PASSâ again. So I thinking again Iâm still hungry remember didnât have no Meal pass yet. Go by the pizzaria and ask for a slice of pizza as my âMEAL PASS MEALâ go through the line and see a lady who say âIâll get youâ scans my âMEGA MEAL PASSâ Staff âyou already use your mealâ Me âhuh how I didnât get foodâ Staff âyou ainât get no dipping dots or somethingâ Me âno I didnât get nothing I used it for a cotton candy as a snackâ exactly as an employee said we could a âSUPERVISORâ. Me âthis happened earlier I had to go to âGUEST RELATIONSâ âthey gave me this for that exact mess upâ âand if I go over theyâll just give me another to fix issueâ Staff rudely shrugs it off and says loudly âwell I canât just give you free foodâ like I couldnât pay right in front of others and I looked her in the face and said. Me âyou can just keep the pizzaâ and sat it back down and walked off as I shouldnât pay for something when I didnât have to like she wanted. And she just up like it was a problem and took it away. I went out extremely upset. Felt like I was just told I was too broke to afford food at Six flags because of there mistakes.I tell my spouse what happened and Iâm going back to âGUEST RELATIONSâ. I go and see them and tell my issue and they did was give me a pass for another me that needed to be used that day and the park was nearly closing. They didnât take no comment down about nothing.I guess this is the normal customers mean less to the dollars they make off them. Was told the cash they gave which was two $10 vouchers were for separate orders only. So we couldnât use it without really giving them a bit of money what was point. Now Iâve been a six flags member for 2 years VIP status and they have always had an issues on MEALS, SNACKS, and Rides so many errors rides never open for half your party to ride itâs just no longer worth my money if your pay to visit there park and see rides not in motion. I will be taking my business elsewhere next year and lose all the benefits Iâve purchased with six flags. Have a...
Read moreSo let me start with our situation. Its a sunday on labor day weekend. We drove 4 hours from clarksville to the park and got there on opening time at 11am. We got preferred parking and getting in the park was all good and quick. Definitely need to buy tix ahead cuz the queue will fill up quick. AFTER entering park is where alot of things went wrong for us. Let me start with the free Wifi. You can access it BUT it does not work. Nothing loads. Its a joke. Next is the six flags app, the app is alittle confusing and loading is slow. Half the time the map cant pin point accurate location. At least you can keep track of the rides you went. Now i dont know about other pple but i was not able to access my fast pass through app. Had to go through the browser to access that. I also ended up using google map to find my way around to the rides. The Map posts around the park does NOT pin point your location which i think its stupid especially for a park this pricey. Pple just wanna look-and-go. Not having to stay and figure out where we at. We actually had to wait for pple to figure out where they at just to look at those map boards ourselves. Alot of time wasted. Its frustrating to keep on looking at my phone walking around. Drains battery quick. Next is the Fast pass. We spent 90 bucks each on top of the entrance price. Its just me and my spouse. Altogether we did the daily tickets 2 entrance tix, 2 premium fast passes and a preferred parking. 318 bucks with taxes. Using the fast pass with my phone browser. Its pretty easy to activate it BUT its frustrating to USE it. Its not like those traditional way where you go in the fast lane show the pass and get in. NOPE you have to RESERVE the ride. And you only can reserve 1 ride at a time. Some rides you STILL have to wait about 20 to 30 mins. Mind you theres 3 types of fast pass, Standard - which you reserve a virtual spot in the regular queue. Premium - you reserve virtual spot on the fast lane queue Ultimate - just show and go. Also most rides the fast lane queue is the same as the exit lane. Which alot of times makes it more confusing to find the fast lanes. Yup more time wasted. I definitely think the fast pass is NOT worth getting. Cant imagine if we spend the ultimate pass for 150. Thats already 300 for both of us JUST for the fast pass. Ridiculous and rip off. If theres already a queue in the fast lane you STILL gotta wait in line for your turn. No such thing as ride IMMEDIATELY. So big disappointment with the fast passes. Next is the Food pricing, went to the firehouse sub to get brisket sandwich and mac n cheese for just 1 person. A whopping 30 bucks. My husband just got his. I decided not to get it. Like seriously? Cant imagine the other food outlets prices. I just bought the $6 smart water. Yup for water. Next is WATER. The day gets pretty hot in late afternoon. The water coolers does NOT work. And the drink stands you can either spend 30 bucks unlimited refills for any sodas or water for the season and pay additional $7 for each day you return in the season. OR spend $20 for unlimited refills for the day. And then theres free water option which they just offer you a mouthwash sample size plastic cup just for water. Which can obviously tell they want you to spend money even on water. Which btw you can taste chlorine pretty well. Like pool water. It already hurts our wallet just for 2 of us. Cant imagine if big families go there. Just nope. So in conclusion dont think will return here. I do not recommend daily fast passes unless youâre going for the seasonal or annual membership. We dont go to theme parks much but if you do then i think those membership subscription does sounds like a good deal. But iâll never know. We came here at 11am and left at 5pm. Rode 10 roller coasters with 1 meal stop and water hunting periods. Phone Battery drained. 4 hour drive back home. We were left disappointed and just didnt feel we got our moneys worth. So im giving 2 stars just for the rides we got on. The rc rides are the only best thing about this...
