The worst part of this ride is the line. The cars only hold 6 people and they only load and unload one car at a time, and this makes for a very slow moving line and an inefficient ride. The queue is out in the sun with no scenery, so it's boring and long.
If you go on a light day or don't mind the wait, Dare Devil Dive is a fine coaster. It's got the steepest drop in the park, comfy lap bars, and three smooth inversions. It's not particularly well paced, but it's still fun and thrilling.
The downfall for me is that you can experience similar things on Twisted Cyclone. It also has a steep drop and three smooth inversions, only it is a prettier ride, has an indoor queue, a faster moving line, and it has more than just the barrel rolls and drop... including plenty of airtime hills, overbanked turns, and an awesome wave turn.
We always skip Dare Devil Dive because its doesn't offer anything particularly special that we can't experience on other rides...
Read moreLove this ride! It is fast (ish) tall (ish) and provides some great inversions and moments. To start, the lift hill going up is 90 degrees VERTICAL! You are looking up at the sun, stars and the heavens, preparing for a beyond vertical drop. You feel like you are going inside yourself for a moment. It has some good inversions as well. A dive loop and zero-g roll are in the ride for sure. The transitions are smooth, it is not rough. The only complaints I have are that the operations are sluggish because each train only seats 6 people, and it is relatively short, in duration...
Read moreGreat ride, fantastic pacing with forceful elements, and overall a very fun experience with lapbars. The only reason I rate this 4 instead of 5 is because of the capacity and operations. Due to the ride vehicles only having 6 seats per train, the line can definitely pile up. The operations are also a complete wild card. Sometimes the ride will be open all day with no problems, other times it will break down every 30 minutes. Some days it will just not be open at all. If you plan on riding this, please plan accordingly as it can definitely take up a portion...
