CONS: No shade, minimal trees. The trail is unbearable during the summer, it's definitely a fair weather trail. There is no parking close by, so you have to park down the street and around the corner, then walk 4 minutes to the trail. With young kids, this just defeats the purpose of going to the trail. They are already getting tired before we even reach the trail.
BIGGEST CON: once you reach the under pass at NE 64th Street, you cannot go any further as it is ALWAYS full of mud and wet yuckiness. There is no barrier between the creek and the pavement. The creek just washes right up onto the concrete, leaving it a terrible mess that no one is willing to trudge through, especially if you have kids on bikes, in stroller, or in a wagon. It's gross
PROS: The path is very wide, plenty of space for both foot traffic and bikes to pass safely. A few benches at the beginning, although none later on when you really need them. A beautiful creek that runs along the entire trail, and a lovely bridge crossing it. There are always small fish to watch from the bridge. It's always clean, well maintained, and (so far) I've never seen...
