After picking through some cards and finding cards we wanted the lady took them to the back and upped the prices on the cards. She just grabbed the cards off the counter and went to check them without saying anything then came back and told us that one of the cards doubled in price while another went up a couple dollars. Never did she say prices were subject to change and honestly they should have been priced at what was wanted instead of waiting for someone to pick one up and change the price.
I understand that card prices change, neither of us recall being told that prices are checked! If you want to check prices, don't list the prices on the cards, look them up as they sell. We pick the cards we need based on condition and price. We know how much we can spend and that's why we pick the cards we pick at the price they are. Yes, it was a change in a couple dollars(double the price it was marked at) but the point is that didn't have the couple extra dollars in the budget for the price change. After leaving we looked said card up on the TCG website and it is selling under the price you changed it to! So maybe check the legit TCG for card prices and not eBay! Look at it as your going to a store to buy bananas, they are marked at .50 a pound, you pick up 3lbs for what should be 1.50. You get to the check out and they say your bananas are now 1.50 a pound because someone has purchased some. That leaves you enough money to buy 1 pound instead of the 3 you had. That's EXACTLY WHAT YOU HAVE DONE by changing the price when we were ready...
Read moreI dont know about other peoples hateful comments. To be honest, they're probably the karens of the group or the people who showed up to the store one brief(respectfully). For someone who shows up every tuesday for commander and someone that's been coming here for a year going on 2, i can say these things from experience. There is a vast single card selection all you need to do is make up a list and send it to Action Sports on facebook and theu will let you know what they have, how much the full list will be, and when it will be ready! It's super helpful! Jim is super nice, and he does care about the store. I heard him making an announcement not to curse all the time and that this is a family friendly place. And for the workers ive talked to 3 of them and 2 of them seem annoyed when you talk to them at 1st but when you actually talk to them like a person and not a customer demanding perfection then theyre really nice. For example, this one time i needed dice during commander night and the girl working there (im sorry im not good with names) was ringing me up, and she seemed really annoyed and short with me. But then i came in next time, and she said hi to me when i walked in and asked me how i was doing, and the time after that, she even remembered my name. This store has a lot to offer from a caring owner, kind and down to earth staff, a variety of mtg single card selection, and a good...
Read moreAvoid this store! EVERYTHING is very overpriced, VERY rude staff, who often have NO idea what theyâre talking about. Horrible tournament organizer, doesnât know about the games he is running, and straight up lies on multiple occasions about inventory, prizing, sales etc. The store ALWAYS reeeks of horrific body odor that is INESCAPABLE. The store is NEVER organized, with product thrown around, and taking up playspace. The staff never wants to do their job. There is NO room in the store to move around and look at product, EVERY single chair is broken. All of these factors make the store very uncomfortable to sit and play in, or even browse in as it is very uncomfortable and very unwelcoming. Singles inventory is VERY limited on everything except magic and they never want to look for cards and they donât let you look through their cards, and when they do have cards you need, they charge WAAAYY over market value. There are many other stores who do their best to help their customers and provide a nice space to play in that is comfortable and inviting. Do yourself a favor and save the horrible experience and have a better one...
