This place was fun, but old. The years show on everything at this park. As far as nearby entertainment, the Kentucky Action Park is worth checking out. The daily pass gives unlimited rides on the Chair Lift, Alpine Slide, Go Karts, Bumper Cars, Bumper Boats, Trampoline, Rock Wall, Miniature Golf and one trip to Outlaw Cave and if you have the time to do all but the miniature golf multiple times before 6pm, it is worth it. Zip Line, Horseback Riding, Green River Canoe and old time photos are all a separate price.
The place looks run down, and the van ride to the cave doesn't help that run down feeling any, as it is in an 80's model beat up looking van and you are taken to the back side of the woods to a sketchy looking door entrance to the cave. The cave was a refreshing spot to hit on a hot summer day, but if you have been to any of the other caves in the area, this one is tiny in comparison.
The cave tour guide was really into the tour though and kept it entertaining. Some of the other staff, on the other hand, were a bit disgruntled and even expressed it during their "safety brief." They also seemed short handed as the trampoline and rock wall were unmanned for a while as kids waited and only one of the two activities could be ran at a time.
It would be better if they looked like they tried to keep the place looking new, but from what I have heard, this place has looked the same for...
Read moreThe only place we went every day the F-Su we were in the area. They have zip line after dark and was hooked. The zip line was super fun. Youngest daughter was worried the first time but the guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. After her first time she was more than excited to do it again. So we went back the next day to do the alpine slide, also fun, and then back on our last day to do the zip line again with the ride again discount.
After summer breaks the staffing numbers are lower, so they may not be able to operate both lines, which was the case Friday night. But Sunday they had some additional staff and allowed our youngest daughter and I to race down the lines. So much memorable fun. That made 3 relaxing trips on their ski lift. The entire staff is super friendly. I'll probably be editing later so I can call back and get names. The guy operating the lift was super helpful and gave us all the information the first day and was the one that sold us on the after dark zip and other activities in the area. Hopefully I'll get some pics posted on a later edit too, but for now just want to get my favorite places reviews in.
Thank you to everyone working here for all the helpful information, super friendly staff and atmosphere, and answering my repetitive "can we both go down at the same...
Read moreFirst of all, this is the ONLY establishment I've been to in Kentucky that 100% supports the military. Not a "10%" discount, they legit are 100% free for military. I wish I would have known about this hidden gem during my time here, I am more than happy to spread the good word about these amazing people. The place seems outdated on the outside, that has a lot to do with their love for people and families and less than surface level stuff. The old school bumper cars and go carts were nostalgic for me, and it was just damn good old fashion fun! The horseback trails had a 2 hour option I would have paid a couple hundred for. You ride adventurously throughout the Ky countryside, and it was beautiful and peaceful. The handlers here are very loving with their horses and overall, EVERYONE was genuinely all smiles. I gladly tipped my guide $40 and bought the awesome photo packages. We also went on the zip line which was BOSS!!!! Additionally, we went down the alpine slide four times and each time felt more edgy. If I could, I would spend all day there ;) The staff are happy locals with families, they are fun, damn good people and I am so grateful for their support of the military. Knowing there is a wonderful place to blow off steam makes the trenches...
