Waterleaf is both a training ground for students as well as a restaurant open to the public. It just happens to be located in the largest community college in Illinois. #fyp #foryourpage #studentdining #studentchef #culinaryschool

Excellent, affordable and reliable. This community college is a gem in the western suburbs located in Dupage County. The variety of programs is amazing. The teachers are very well educated. When applying ask for a waiver code and your application can be free. The pre-requisites to start classes at the college are very flexible. They have a wonderful support system called the learning center. They have free tutors in all classes. They offer financial aid and scholarships. Free GED classes. Advising and counseling is free. Registration can be in person or online. Classes are offered in a variety of offerings, online, hybrid, face to face or in person. What more can you ask for? A great college! Check it out.

A cold Friday night I find this guy outside in one of the BIC courtyards with his guitar and his beautiful voice enjoying the acoustics! It was 28 degrees but his music and voice were warm and soothing to the soul. Great way to finish off the week. Thank you whoever you are! Keep going!!!

I took a exam here today. Came in . Wasn’t greated by the first woman that was at the front desk to psi exams. Then the coworker came over asked if I needed help I said Yes Then the first Lady that was already at the front desk decided to finally address me and was ready to assist me . By the way I’m African american and these ladies were White and I believe showed discrimination towards me . I don’t like Call people racist but these ladies clearly were. I gave my information for the test . she let me know I would have to pull my sleeves to my shirt up , put purse away ect. I did that. She then comes around the desk ask me to make sure my pockets are empty and don’t have anything in my pockets. And I had on just a regular pair of blue jeans. She then tells me I have to pull my pants legs up and keep them up until the test is over. I ask when did they start doing this ?. She then said people like like hide bluetooths in their pants legs so we make them do it. I just said ok This is my first time at this specific location but this was my second time taking taking the test . The first location I went too in Schaumburg The staff at the front desk were friendly they didn’t make me do all this that this lady made me do today. When I entered the test room there’s 2 other girls taking test. One had pants on but her pants weren’t pulled up the other had shorts. 2 more girls came in to take tests and also had pants on but their pants legs weren’t pulled up . I was the only African American in the test room. I finished my test before everyone and PASSED ! When I came out I told the lady I was done. She started getting my paper work together . Then the other lady was like “ that was fast “. But in a way with attitude. I just said yep. Because at this point I don’t have nothing nice to say to these woman. From the moment I walked in you can feel their negative energy but see I serve God and I kno the devil is always find a way to work though people so I just had to over look them because I know personally I did nothing to them for them to treat me the way they did. & I can’t let the negative energy stop me from doing somthing God Called me to do ! My little brother was in the car while he waited for me to pass the test and before I could even say how the ladies treated me at the front desk he said “ I can tell them ladies didn’t want you to pass that test. They kept looking at my car kept walking pass staring. ( my brothers a teenager ) . . If these are the people psi are allowing to hold test for them they should be ashamed. The lady should of told me congratulations if she was being so kind ! Not one time did they say congratulations to me or goodluck Or have a good day. Which is totally fine but other people need to know how this business operates before they decide to come here. You honestly would have to be there to understand. But hopefully this can give u a visual of house disgusting people still are treating people of COLOR and I’m pretty sure I’m not the first one - Vengence Of The...

This pertains to the nursing program/ graduation department. It’s safe to say that I’m speaking for the entire December 20023 nursing cohort graduates.

I would have given more stars until an incident happened right as the nursing students were about to graduate. Prior to Christmas break the week of December 8th. The nursing department told the students that the college takes the health and science departments priority for confirmation of program completion, degree confirmation, and sending information to the state for further testing, etc. Now the school didn’t actually close for the holidays until approximately December 22ish, so when the students returned the first week of January for additional nclex review we were informed that no information had been sent to the state, the college was still reviewing our documents, and they had no intentions of sending our information to the state prior to Christmas break and everything would be turned in at the latest 1/12/2023. It has now been almost 1 month since we graduated and not a single nursing student has taken their nclex or received their ATT# to at least schedule the exam. This is completely unacceptable as the majority of us already have new grad jobs lined up and some of us are now at risk for having these jobs retracted because we won’t have our nclex completed in time. Also being hired on “pending your license” does not mean hired and haven’t taken the exam. Pending license means you took your nclex, you passed, but are given 90 to show proof of the actual licensure. Now I don’t blame this on the nursing department as they had done their part of it. It’s just very upsetting and unbelievable to be sitting here waiting when our jobs, careers, future goals, and everything we have worked for is now at risk because of the schools disregard. I would not recommend the nursing program at all because of this problem. If anything make sure you graduate in may and not December.

Sincerely, A very angry and upset...

Take with a grain of salt as I was only here for 2 semesters, one fall and one summer, during my co-op, to just knock out some general eds. This is a decent place to get a start but you have to be smart. For starters, the admissions officer was really surprised, and even made fun of me, for showing up on time; only to tell me I was the first person in his whole career to show up on time. Once he realized I wasn't one of his usual students, he was helpful in recommending classes and how to chose them logically: he recommended taking classes either at night or on the weekend and even though this guy pissed me off in the beginning I could see what he meant. I took one class on Saturdays and had to miss it because of another commitment and made it up the following week and the students were a laughable joke; no respect or they would sleep through class. The ones on Saturday, on the other hand, were respectful and had their mind set on transferring out. Same thing with taking classes at night compared to the day time; the more serious students take their classes at night when there are fewer people to screw around. The teachers are very similar too; they are far more focused and serious during night classes compared to the exact same class in the day time. My Saturday teacher for example openly told me he volunteered to teach on Saturday so he could deal with the "better students". The campus environment, to me at least, also seemed to drag or slow people down. I met a number of people who stayed years longer than they should've. All in all, if you have to go here, I suggest taking classes at night, over the summer or on the weekends; professors and students are far more focused during these times and you'll be able to finish or transfer out...
