The train ride and carousel were a lot of fun. The train is adorable and my toddler loved it. I recommend you buy tickets online, the in person line was very long. The train takes 15 minutes to run its track and boarding takes 15 mins so the train runs every 30 minutes. The carousel is 4 mins long. There's a playground nearby too so after you ride the train and carousel, kids can go run around some more.
I took off one star though because of the train's boarding process. Your ticket says to arrive 15 mins before the train departure. What it doesn't tell you is that if you aren't there 15 mins early, they will give your seat to anyone waiting. The ticket doesn't stress that important detail, however, since a lot of people make that mistake, generally you are placed on the next train. It caused a lot of tension amongst the patrons and the staff were overwhelmed with complaints.
Overall I recommend it. Just get...
Read moreWe have had fun experiences here in the past, but man, they failed so hard today! We were sold a walk-up ticket for the train with a casual warning that we may have to wait a little while. There were only like eight people in front of us in line for the train, so we felt okay about things. An hour and a half later only three people had gotten on the train from the walk-up ticket line because the online time to tickets have priority. It was totally irresponsible for them to continue selling tickets when there was no chance of anyone ever getting on that train without a pre-book timed ticket. Tickets were non-refundable. That really sucked to spend an hour and a half waiting in line with my toddlers only to have to give up when it became clear that it was impossible to ever get on that train without waiting another 2 hours. Please do better next year Montgomery...

TIP: Check their Facebook page to make sure the train is running if there has been any precipitation in the previous few days.
When we got to the park around 1pm last Sunday, it hadn't rained in about 48 hours, but the tracks were still too wet for the train to run safely. We were told that they would reassess every couple hours...
Around 4 pm, I decided to buy train tickets in case it did run, because the line was empty. The attendee sold me tickets, but made it clear that there was no guarantee that the train would run that day... About 10 minutes later, we were enjoying the first train ride of the day! By the time we returned to the "station," there was a SUPER long ticket line, as well as a crazy long wait time to actually board the train... Plan ahead & buy tickets in advance...
