I drove 4 hours to tour the Stow House, another museum & to spend the day in S.B. in between time. I was able to book a tour online for the other museum, but couldn't find online booking for the Stow House so I emailed them days before to confirm booking as I'm driving from out of town. The tour day/time was confirmed & it was advised to purchase tickets on site (as was stated on the website). However, I get there in time for a Saturday 3pm tour & was told tours are not being held due to renovations! Read moreOne of the things I have never done is go around the interior of the house. Looking at the history and photos of the place, it does look like a great place to visit. Even if you visit and place is not open, the grounds are impressive with a lake in the middle. Easy access, with a nice parking lot, when a 24/7 toilet. Other things at the property are the railroad museum, lots of paths some through wooded areas, the Goleta Valley Historical Society, check the map.
