Winter Wonderland (Almost!) at Mount Rainier I recently joined an Olympia Parks and Rec snowshoeing trip to Mount Rainier, and while we weren't able to get all the way into the park due to chain requirements (our bus couldn't accommodate them), the experience was still breathtaking. Even from the entrance, the beauty of Mount Rainier in the winter is absolutely exceptional. The snow-covered landscape was a true winter wonderland, and the sheer majesty of the mountain was amplified by the pristine snow. It was a reminder of why this national park is so special. While I was disappointed we couldn't proceed with our snowshoeing plans, the views alone made the trip worthwhile. If you have the opportunity to visit Mount Rainier in the winter, especially with the proper vehicle and chain setup, we want to snowshoe at a nearby national park road. I highly recommend it. The park's winter beauty is something not to be missed. I'll definitely be back, better prepared, to experience the full magic of Rainier's...

Extremely disappointing lack of proper information communicated by the park in regards to construction and wait times. Website says delays up to 30 minutes, so does Google maps, so we went expecting a moderate delay. Instead, we waited 20 minutes before we reached a ranger on the side of the road that told us it was construction and that we were about 30 minutes out. We waited more than an hour and a half more in line and still never got to the park entrance. We ended up having to turn around due to not having any ability to visit a restroom or any available food. Please be realistic when communicating wait times, this strongly effects people's ability to enjoy our resources. We even checked the Parks AM communications channel and were met with nothing but the...

However, on our visit, heavy snow and dense fog limited visibility and access, making it hard to explore much. While the natural beauty was still impressive, weather conditions made it less enjoyable this time. Best to check conditions before going, but it remains a majestic destination worth visiting on a...
