Pros - close to the entrance of Mt. Rainier park, the host was very friendly and hospitable. Showed us to our cabin and where the key was, made sure our questions were answered. Spacious although we stayed one night and didn't really hang out in the family room.

Cons - the biggest was the bathroom. We were extremely disappointed by how gross the shower was as it had not been cleaned after the previous occupants had been there. There were long hairs on the shower wall, it was just filthy. As well, it had not been scrubbed down in months, there was yellow slime covering the walls and floor... A bottle of dish soap and warm vinegar sprayed on the shower walls and floor, and then washed off after a few hours of soaking will get rid of this easily. It felt very dirty to us and very stressful to even take a shower. Thankfully I had shower shoes from camping the night before and didn't have to stand on the floor. The kitchen counters had crumbs (toast) and when I wiped them down with a paper towel, it was covered with food and dirt. Our beds sheets had hairs on them. It is not fair or good customer service to advertise your cabins the way they are portrayed on your website, nice, clean, etc and then not follow through with providing a comfortable and clean place to stay. We did not expect perfection at all, we are staying in a cabin in the woods, but hair in the shower and on bed sheets, even after being washed, crumbs on the counters, and a shower covered in yellow layer of slime is unacceptable. I read in other reviews that they are trying to sell this place. It has great bones, it's a beautiful property, hopefully whomever buys it will invest in deep cleaning and even cleaning after guests leave. I am sure it's overwhelming to run if the man who showed us to our cabin is the one running the whole place, not really sure, but they are definitely not keeping up with cleaning at a bare minimum if they are selling. I do not recommend staying at this place until they improve their...

Note: I am reviewing the "Family" cabin.

Nice little place just a half mile outside the entrance to Mount Rainier. Overall, I was very happy with my time here. Everything was ready for my check-in and I was in and out of the office in only a minute or so. The gentleman who greeted us took us personally up to our cabin in a golf cart and walked us around the unit, showing us where the light switches were, how to adjust the heat, etc. Nice little personal touch.

The cabin itself was lovely. He reports it was an old house that was converted to lodging. The age does show a bit in some peeling paint and sticking doors, but nothing was functionally wrong with the building. Purely cosmetic, which personally I felt added to the charm.

Lovely little fireplace, firewood available on site for $5 for a nice sized bundle.

Everything worked perfectly from the fridge to the microwave to the oven to the heater, to the hot and cold water. Nice privacy, not too close to the next cabin, very quiet and the location can't be beat. Literally about a 1 minute drive to the entrance.

Only reason I am taking off one star is that the bed in the master bedroom had an issue. We were too tired to investigate properly, but there was a large dip in the middle of it. It is designed to be just a mattress on a frame (no box spring), and it appears one of the cross beams may have been broken or missing, as the middle sagged badly. If that issue was fixed, I would happily give 5 stars as it was exactly what I was looking for and I would have loved to have stayed for longer than the one night I...

We stayed in the Cedar cabin in August

Pros Location, location, location Value Comfortable Excellent wi-fi Cute window treatments Quiet Private Full kitchen

Cons No cell reception Dated furnishings Odd bed placement, unable to walk around the bed Stained shower Stained sinks Oven hasn’t been cleaned in years Drip pans need changing Thin towels (exactly 2 - we brought extras of our own)

We enjoyed the rustic cabin feel and there was plenty of room for 3 adults. The cabin is super close to the Nisqually entrance of the National Park. I tried to clean the shower and had no problems, so they just haven’t been doing any deep cleaning, same with the oven - nothing a little Easy Off could’ve changed. Hopefully they will step up their cleaning approach, if that happens, this will be a great place to stay. The cabins are dated as is the furnishings. The kitchen was stocked, but just barely. Exactly 4 spoons, forks and knives, 3 coffee cups and some plates. Adequate, but we did dishes a lot since we ate all our meals at the cabin.

One suggestion if they read these reviews...some sort of land line or phone service between the cabins and the office. Since there is no cell service, if something were to happen, you can’t call for help. Safety...

The cabin was exceptionally clean, cozy, and full of rustic charm. We loved the peaceful location just a few minutes away from the entrance to the park and overall vibe—it felt like a true getaway. The fire pit was a highlight, and the cabin was well stocked with towels and bedding. That said, there are a few areas for improvement. We noticed signs of mice, including footprints on the upstairs bed blankets, which was a bit off-putting and caused some in our group to have somewhat of a restless night sleeping. The water from the sinks and showers had a strong sulfuric odor that detracted from the otherwise great experience. Additionally, the kitchen could benefit from a few more supplies—such as casserole dishes and a wider variety of pots and pans. Overall, this place has the potential to be a solid 5-star stay for anyone with just a few areas for improvement.

This place is perfect for exploring Mt Rainier NP. It’s so close to the entrance—just a quarter mile. We stayed in “The Log Cabin”. The first glance at the grounds are a bit odd but the cabin is just as you would expect a log cabin to be! Quaint, cozy and outdoorsy. And there is some history to this site which is pretty cool. The rooms were comfortable, laundry is on site and there are two bathrooms which is a huge plus! The cabin is stocked with the essentials. It’s quiet and you feel so tucked away in the woods. It was perfect for our time at MRNP. Although we never saw them, the hosts were responsive to my questions prior to arrival and all information we needed was provided inside. I would definitely stay here again! (Oh, but if you’re tall, be sure to watch your head. 🙂)
